The Story of Elise
Elise makes her home in a shuttered, lightless palace inside the oldest city of Noxus, even though she is more commonly filed under the influence of the Shadow Isles and the Black Mist that haunts that archipelago. That contrast between her physical residence and the darker forces associated with her says something about how thoroughly she has left her old life behind.
She was mortal once, the mistress of a powerful house, before the bite of a vile demigod remade her into something else entirely, beautiful on the surface, utterly inhuman underneath. What emerged is a spider-like predator who spins webs to draw in prey rather than a woman who merely survived an attack. To keep the youth that bite granted her, Elise feeds specifically on the naive and the faithless, choosing victims she can seduce before she strikes.
Her two forms reflect that split identity directly in combat. In Human Form, Neurotoxin punishes healthy targets, Volatile Spiderling detonates near enemies, and Cocoon stuns and reveals whoever it hits. Shifting into Spider Form via her ultimate trades range for speed, new abilities, and a swarm of Spiderlings: Venomous Bite instead punishes low-health targets, Skittering Frenzy speeds up her and her brood, and Rappel lets her leap into the air before descending onto an enemy below, though its long cooldown leaves her exposed for a stretch right after she uses it to flee. Her passive, Spider Queen, ties the two forms together: Human Form abilities generate dormant Spiderlings, while Spider Form attacks heal her as she fights, which is why her spider abilities cost no mana at all and can be leaned on freely whenever resources run low. Few opponents, by this account, can resist her once she has chosen them, and by the time they realize what she has become, retreat is rarely still an option left open to them.
