Blizzard has heard the murmurs of the most ambitious Mythic+ conquerors — and given them what was missing from the latest season of World of Warcraft: Midnight. The studio admitted that the content was rustic, and the unique trophies for the elite were frankly regretted. Now the error is being corrected.
The main novelty of the upcoming update is the “Saddle Lost in Time”. Everyone who breaks the 3400 bar of the Mythic+ rating will receive it. The item will be taken to the Lindormi in Lunosvet (or to the Timekeepers, whichever is more convenient) and exchanged for transport from a special selection. What’s inside? Mounts from the pool of awards for the titles of “Keystone Master” and “Keystone Legend” from previous seasons, plus several brand new models. A kind of ticket to the past, only with an exclusive trailer.
And that’s not all. The most desperate ones, those who squeeze into the top 1% of the Mythic+ rating, will take away a mount that no one else will have. Exclusive in its purest form. Without compromise.
Blizzard’s solution looks pragmatic and, frankly, quite elegant. One new mount from scratch — the costs are modest, and the “Lost Saddle” gracefully shuffles ready-made assets. Resources are saved, hardcore players are happy. The studio clearly shows that no one has canceled long-term goals and significant rewards for those who live in high keys. Even when the overall difficulty is creeping down.
That’s why, the community’s reaction will be interesting. A unique mount for the top 1% is a powerful dope for the competitive stratum. But for those who don’t chase after transport, this whole attraction of generosity may seem a little pale. But at least Blizzard is responding quickly, and that’s a good sign for next season. Let’s see if they keep the bar.
