Instead of the usual raid dungeons, WoW developers are focusing on open-world content. The patch, which will be released on April 21st, introduces three new types of content, plus a system that allows you to earn loot without endlessly grinding the same bosses.
Let’s start with the most widespread. “Void Void” are weekly attacks on Eversing and Zul’Aman. If players don’t fight back? Invasions risk escalating into a full-scale attack. Rotating events force guilds to plan their logistics.
A little more intimate, but no less intense, is “Ritual Sites.” A co-op for 1-5 players, where nagas and Twilight Blade cultists strive to accumulate power. Your goal is to disrupt the ritual. The higher the difficulty, the greater the reward, plus influence on the “Great Vault.”
For those who are tired of the constant “take-and-kill”: Abyss Anglers will be added to Zul’Aman. Yes, yes, fishing, which pumps equipment. And gives cosmetics. Safe, meditative, but useful.
Decimus’s Void Forge is the main feature of the patch. If you defeat a boss or close a dungeon with high difficulty, you get the right to spend “Misty Void Cores”. In exchange, a random item for your mining specialization.
And no repetitions until you collect all the available loot of the current difficulty. The system resembles a smart drop, but without the classic luck bonus.
But that’s not all. “Ascended Void Cores” will allow you to upgrade already fully upgraded mythical and heroic trunks with accessories.
An important caveat: this is the second leveling method in the expansion, which is offered by a dubious ally who dabbles in dark magic. Would you risk it?
Briefly on the list:
-
Invasions of the Abyss (open world)
-
Anglers of the Abyss (open world, awards)
-
Ritual venues (scenario, varying complexity)
-
Duel of the Decorators (PvP mode)
-
Crucible of the Abyss (additional loot rolls + equipment upgrades)
-
And also “prop hunt” — yes, a mode where you pretend to be an object.
From the little things: a bunch of fixes and small changes. But the main thing is that the April 21st update reshapes the routine. The raiders can sleep peacefully (there are no raids), and fans of the open world and alternative leveling are rubbing fishing spears.
