The Sims 4 has received update 1.127.41.1030 on PC, 1.127.41.1230 on Mac and 2.38 on consoles. It introduces an image cache for the Marketplace and adds free Create a Sim content.
The patch also fixes navigation problems, a common PlayStation launch crash and several errors linked to packs and clothing.

Marketplace images now stay in a local cache
Previously, the Marketplace downloaded images again during repeated browsing. The new cache stores those files after the first download and retrieves only new or changed images later. This design can reduce waiting and repeated data use. The first visit still needs to obtain the files, so the strongest improvement should appear on later visits.
The cache does not make every internet connection equally fast. Store response time, hardware and the number of new images can still change the experience.
Create a Sim receives new free choices
The update adds a cosmic coils hairstyle and six clothing items designed for a wider range of body sizes. The items are part of the free content release rather than a separate paid pack. Players can combine the new pieces with existing outfits in Create a Sim. The update does not remove normal colour and style choices from older items.
Clear wording is important because two film-inspired Capsule Kits also arrive on 27 August. Those kits are separate products, while the hairstyle and six listed items belong to the free update.
The update fixes navigation controls on consoles
The right stick could become stuck while scrolling through the Marketplace or Pack Details pages. The patch repairs both navigation cases. EA also fixed a layout problem that appeared when a player entered the Marketplace from Create a Sim after using Quick Buy for a new pack.
These changes target the store interface. They do not alter movement or camera controls during normal household play.

A frequent PlayStation launch crash is addressed
The Sims team used player reports to identify one of the most common PlayStation crashes during startup. The update includes a fix for that issue. No stability patch can promise that every possible crash has disappeared. Mods, damaged data, storage problems and unrelated system errors can still cause failures.
Console players should install the current version before judging the repair. If the same problem remains, a new report with the exact platform and steps gives the developer more useful information.
The patch separates current fixes from later content
The image cache, free CAS items and listed bug fixes are part of the 25 August update. The Mean Girls and Clueless Capsule Kits become available on 27 August. That timeline prevents a future store release from being described as already included in the earlier patch. Players may receive the technical update before the kits appear for sale.
The current versions are confirmed across PC, Mac and console. The practical benefit should be faster repeat Marketplace browsing and fewer interruptions in the repaired menu paths.
