Bob is now available to every Tekken 8 player after a five-day early access period for Season 3 Pass owners. The character can be purchased separately through each platform store.

His general release follows update 3.02.01, which also changed health values, Quick Recovery and selected character moves. The same version added Fight Pass Round 11 and corrected several problems in online modes.

Bob combines quick movement with powerful attacks

Bob has always been designed around a clear contrast. His large frame suggests slow attacks, but his movement and combinations can close distance quickly. Players therefore need to judge the attack animation rather than rely on the character’s size. His move list supports pressure from several ranges. Quick advancing attacks can test an opponent who steps backward, while stronger follow-ups reward a correct read near a wall. The character can also change rhythm instead of repeating one long combination.

New Bob players should begin with a small group of reliable moves. Learning a safe low attack, one fast punish and one launcher provides a useful base. A full move list becomes easier to understand after those basic choices feel natural.

More players will now face Bob in online matches

Season 3 Pass owners had 120 hours of early access from 20 August. That period gave them time to test combinations and identify strong positions before the wider release. Ranked and casual matches will now include many more Bob players. Opponents may see repeated use of simple launchers during the first days, but stronger players will vary timing and stop before an unsafe final hit.

The training mode can record these actions. A player can set Bob to repeat one sequence, practise the correct defence and then add a second option. This method is more useful than trying to remember every possible move at once.

Health and Quick Recovery received system changes

Update 3.02.01 adjusted health values and Quick Recovery across the battle system. These changes affect how much damage remains after a successful combination and how quickly part of that damage can be recovered.

The patch also adjusted several combat interactions.

The practical result depends on the character and the situation. A route that previously ended a round may now leave a small amount of health, while pressure after a wall combination can become more important.

Players should test their regular combinations against the current version. Old damage numbers from a saved video may no longer describe the same sequence. Training mode gives the exact result without depending on memory.

Balance changes affect the risk of selected attacks

Bandai Namco reviewed attacks that had a large effect on competitive play. The goal was to create more useful choices for both the attacker and defender, especially where the reward had been too high for the risk. This does not mean every character received the same kind of change. Some moves gained different behaviour, while others had bugs corrected. Players should read the notes for their own main character before changing an entire strategy.

Replays made before the update are no longer compatible. Online replay data from the old version was removed, and downloaded replays cannot be played. Saving a short video is the safest way to keep an older example.

Bob general access The character is available through platform stores
Health values Some damage combinations now leave a different total
Quick Recovery Recoverable health must be tested again
Old replays Files from earlier versions no longer play

Fight Pass Round 11 adds another reward track

The free path in Fight Pass Round 11 can provide up to 100 Tekken Coins. The premium path adds 600 more coins, making 700 available when both parts are completed.

An avatar skin based on Bob also entered the Tekken Shop. The launch sale lists the skin at 100 Tekken Coins for a limited period. This item changes the lounge avatar and does not alter Bob’s match performance.
