Overwatch 2: The return of the “up to 4 wins” format to the Stadium - Image 1

The developers of Overwatch 2 listened to the community and in the new patch approved the decision to return the format beloved by many gamers to the Stadium mode. Now, in competitive matches, you need to take over “up to 4 wins” again — a classic that the gaming community has been asking for so much.

Why did Blizzard turn 180 degrees? It’s simple: This is a direct result of feedback from the players themselves and careful study of in-game statistics. According to the creators, the previous system gives more room for tactical maneuver. It allows teams not only to crush the opponent, but to fully unleash the potential of their builds and make those deafening comebacks that make the blood boil.

But the surprises of season 19 don’t end there. Take a look at what else has changed in the gameplay:

  • Superpowers now appear in rounds 1, 3, 5, and 7. The early victory rule has returned — if you can defeat your opponents.
  • The credit economy has experienced a serious reballance. The developers have cut the rewards for the first rounds, as well as bonuses for the title of MVP and for damage done with treatment.

Earlier, matches at the Stadium ended after three wins. This experiment was an attempt to speed up the battles, but, apparently, the majority of fans did not like it. However, fans of dynamic and short fights should not get upset — the “up to 3 wins” option is still waiting for them in the fast Stadium mode.
