The developers of Call of Duty: Warzone decided to celebrate the triumphs of esports players in an unusual way — now the Verdansk and Rebirth Island locations feature banners with the names of the champions of the largest battle royale tournaments. The first season update brought with it a real gallery of fame.

The statue in honor of the World Series is on the facade of the Verdansk stadium.
The facade of the stadium is now decorated with billboards celebrating Team Vision’s victory at the World Series of Warzone Global 2025. The most noticeable thing is the installed statue, the design of which repeats the shape of the winner’s trophy.
A curious moment: not only the names of Team Vision are engraved on the pedestal. The composition includes three sets of armor — a tribute to Team Biffle and Team Falcons, who took the WSOW championship in 2023 and 2024, respectively. A kind of esports Pantheon.
By the way, this is not the first Call of Duty esports celebration on the Verdansk map. Remember 2020 — after the Dallas Empire won the CDL Championship, their banners appeared in the game along with the league trophy. History repeats itself, but in a much larger format.
Rebirth Island Greets with Esports World Cup banners
Billboards dedicated to Twisted Minds’ triumph at the EWC World Championships have been placed on the compact map of Rebirth Island. The wall of the prison and the roof of the factory now feature a trio of players wearing Saudi organization T-shirts.
The Esports World Cup logo fits seamlessly into Vozrozhdenie Island — considering that the tournament was held in the Resurgence format, the choice of location looks logical. The developers have clearly thought through the details.
Factors affecting the budget of an in-game advertising campaign
When planning an in-game campaign budget, marketers have to juggle several budget factors at once. First, the esports audience is assessed: its size, solvency and intersection with Call of Duty Warzone fans — it is logical that the most “hot” slots pay more.
CPM in-game jumps during peak periods — major tournaments, update releases, World Series Warzone and Esports World Cup finals, when player engagement increases dramatically; seasonality of advertising is also added here.
By the way, platform costs also significantly affect the amount: placement on consoles, PCs and mobile platforms costs differently, plus creatives for in-game banners and technical integration are a separate line.
As a result, the brand has to balance between coverage and depth of contact, asking itself the question: on what combination of maps, formats and platforms will advertising feel native, and not like an annoying billboard at the entrance to the lobby?
What awaits Warzone esports next?
After the release of Season 1 update, Activision remains silent about future plans for COD Warzone esports. The information vacuum does not prevent organizations from actively forming teams for 2026.
South Korea’s T1 became the latest to join the scene — the team signed a contract with a British trio, including the 2025 World Series champion under the nickname Echo. The movement continues, even without official announcements.
