The new mid—season patch – Season 1 Reloaded — for the latest installment of the Treyarch action movie will seriously shake up the competitive scene along the way. The developers have organized three new locations that should dilute the boring pool of cards and add a spark to the current roster. In the midst of the Call of Duty League (CDL) battles and the Challengers series tournaments, such an update is always a lottery for the pros. In fact, the attention of all the top players is now focused on the first Major in 2026 and the open event of the Challengers Open, where any miscalculation in knowledge of timings on new maps can cost the title.

Review of new Yakei and Fringe maps in Black Ops 7

The first number on the list is Yakei, a classic three—lane structure full of narrow passageways for tough meat at close range. Interestingly, the map continues the Japanese visual code that we have already seen in the Black Ops 7 multiplayer.

Then, as discussed, fans will see the legend’s comeback — the Fringe card is back on line. She, however, briefly flew into the sixth part of the series at the end of her life, but she earned real cult status back in the era of Black Ops 3 in 2016. It seems that with the new “bouncing off the walls” mechanics in Black Ops 7, the pace in this location will become simply frenzied — much more cheerful than we used to see before.

The third lot in the update was Meltdown, straight from the archives of Black Ops 2. Back in 2013, this nuclear power plant was the arena for top matches in the Search and Destroy mode. It was here, by the way, that Damon “Karma” Barlow gave out that legendary “ninja defuse” on Gfinity 2.

Changing the competitive schedule of CDL and Major

Since two of the three cards already have a competitive background, the probability of their return to the official mappool by the start of the qualifiers for Major 2 (and this will happen on February 13) is huge. To be honest, the return of Fringe and Meltdown looks like a logical step to refresh the broadcasts. In addition, if the respawn logic and Hardpoint points on the new Yakei map turn out to be adequate, it can also move the old locations to CDL.

The layout is as follows:

  • Yakei is a dark horse for the Hardpoint mode;
  • Fringe is a potential favorite due to the dynamics of movements;
  • Meltdown is a classic for tactical bomb games.

It will be interesting to see how the teams adapt to these changes just a couple of weeks before the important starts. Apparently, the training bases will now be operating 24/7.

Everything is very meaningful — the old school is coming back, but with new features.
