Current consoles receive a 15 GB mod allowance
The August update raises Creation storage to 15 GB on PlayStation 5 and Xbox. This gives console players room for larger collections, but it does not remove the need to manage a load order. Texture packs, quest mods and new areas can fill storage quickly. The displayed free space should be checked before a large download begins.
PlayStation 4 uses a different storage arrangement. Bethesda describes an expanded allowance of about 16 GB, but the download size may not match the space shown after installation. Hardware partitions can also create a practical limit on the number of large Creations that fit together. The difference is expected behaviour, not necessarily a failed download.
Bundles make related Creations easier to find
The Skyrim Creations menu can now group releases into bundles, matching a feature used by Fallout and Starfield. A bundle can present related items together instead of asking players to locate each part through separate searches. This is useful for themed collections and for projects that divide content into several packages.
The storefront also supports new box-art sizes of 3640 by 900 and 900 by 506 pixels. Existing images remain supported, so authors do not need to replace every older graphic immediately. The change gives new listings a format consistent with Bethesda’s other Creation stores.
Some verified Creations can preserve achievements
Creations released through the Verified Creators programme may now be marked as Achievement-Friendly on Xbox and Trophy-Friendly on PlayStation. The option does not apply to every mod, and it does not make an existing modified save eligible by itself. Bethesda states that a new game is required when using an updated Creation with this feature.
Players should check the individual listing before assuming that achievements remain available. The label belongs to a selected release, not to the whole store. A load order that also contains an unapproved gameplay mod may still block achievements. Starting a clean save makes the status easier to verify.
The browser receives useful sorting and recovery fixes
Creation categories can be sorted by Most Popular, and bookmarked work-in-progress projects can be viewed. The store should load more efficiently, while the Verified Creator category should sort by the latest release rather than alphabetical order. These changes make discovery more predictable for both new and returning users.
Restoring a load order should no longer fail simply because one listed Creation has disappeared from the Marketplace. Bethesda also fixed failures involving load orders with many entries. Deleting all Creations now clears store downloads without removing mods loaded through other methods. That separation reduces the risk of deleting unrelated files during cleanup.
Creation Kit support expands on PlayStation
PlayStation archives can contain a wider range of files, including models, textures, Bink video, WAV audio and FUZ voice packages. The Creation Kit also gains localisation export, support for multiple master files by default and a clearer Search and Replace workflow. These tools help authors prepare more complex releases.
Several production bugs were corrected. New forms should no longer duplicate pre-existing assets during archiving, and submission should not incorrectly mark a file as a master and then enter an endless reload. Consistent compression for mesh and miscellaneous archives should make upload results easier to predict.
