PUBG Mobile is preparing a double whammy this fall: pre-registration for the lightweight version of the game, Light, opened on August 25, 2026, and on September 9, the game will receive a major update, version 4.6, featuring the gothic theme “Bloodline Awakening.” Lightspeed Studios has clearly decided to tackle both accessibility and content head-on.

PUBG Mobile Light: A Light Client with Full Functionality

PUBG Mobile Light gameplay 2026

It’s important to clarify the terms right away—Light is not a remaster of the old Lite version, but a completely new product from Lightspeed Studios. The goal is simple: the same gameplay as the original, but without the strain on low-end hardware.

The numbers speak for themselves: the app weighs about 1 GB on Android, less than 2 GB on iOS. Maps and other content are downloaded separately, at the player’s discretion. The account is shared across both versions—progress, inventory, and friends are transferred automatically. And most importantly, cross-play with the main client is still available, so you can assemble a squad without worrying about who’s playing what.

The closed beta is already running in several countries. The release is scheduled for November 2026—apparently somewhere around the middle of the month. You can pre-register now on Google Play and the App Store, and those who do so will receive rewards after launch.

What will update 4.6 bring to Erangel?

September 9, 2026, is a date worth marking your calendar. The developers are rolling out version 4.6, which features a vampire-gothic aesthetic called Midnight Thorns. Erangel will feature themed zones, hunting missions, gargoyles, and bloody crystal barriers—the atmosphere promises to be quite dark.

Enemies have also been introduced: Bloodwalkers, Nightbats, and Vampire Elders. Items include Twilight Bat Wings, Scarlet Tonic, and other update-themed buffs. The rare Leopard pet is also returning, and Metro Royale will be updated.

A real treat for shooting enthusiasts: according to the community, the DP-28 will finally get an Elimination Counter in 4.6. This weapon has long been on the waiting list: a powerful LMG with a 47-round magazine and near-zero recoil while prone earned this visual bonus long before many other popular guns.

Collaboration and Roulette Calendar until November

After the release of 4.6, the schedule is tight – something new is coming almost every week.

The dates are preliminary and community-based; details are to be expected from official channels:September 9 — Update 4.6 and Midnight Thorns launch

  • September 11 — Lincoln collaboration
  • September 12 — Royale Pass A21 launch
  • September 18 — Solid Crystal roulette
  • September 20 — One Punch Man prize path (Saitama, Genos, and Garou skins)
  • September 21 — Voodoo Scarecrow Lucky Spin
  • September 25 — First Gold Roulette
  • September 28 — Dungeon Bandit Lucky Spin
  • October 2 — B.Duck collaboration
  • October 9 — Honor roulette
  • October 12 — Shiba Explorer
  • October 25 — Second Gold Roulette
  • October 30 — Wakala roulette
  • November 6 — Lucky Spin

Collaboration with One Punch Man deserves special attention—its scale has been compared to last year’s Naruto and Demon Slayer, two of the most high-profile anime crossovers in the game’s history. Royale Pass A21, as usual, will add clothing sets, upgradable weapon skins, and leveling rewards.

Why do players need all this?

The problem with a heavy client is familiar to many: you have a device, but it can no longer handle the sprawling version of PUBG Mobile. Light addresses this issue: PUBG Mobile—Light, update 4.6 Midnight Thorns—is the same experience, but lighter and faster. Update 4.6 adds themed content and balance, including the long-awaited DP-28 counter. A schedule of collaborations and roulettes running until November will definitely keep you entertained.

It’s worth keeping an eye on the official PUBG Mobile channels for the exact launch timings for Light and details on pre-registration rewards. Autumn 2026 promises to be a busy time: it’s best to free up space on your phone early, register now, and have it ready for September 9th.
