Wolverine may have dozens of ways to tear through his enemies, but Insomniac Games now wants players to decide exactly what Logan should look like while doing it. A new Marvel’s Wolverine trailer focuses on character customization and offers a closer look at some of the more unusual outfits reserved for the Digital Deluxe Edition.

The upgraded edition includes five exclusive suits and the same number of alternate adamantium claw designs. Insomniac clearly went beyond simply recoloring Logan’s standard outfit: the selection features noticeably different designs, including references to various eras of Wolverine’s long history.

Which Suits Are Included in Marvel’s Wolverine Digital Deluxe Edition?

Marvel’s Wolverine Digital Deluxe Edition comes with five exclusive suits. The lineup includes:

  • Incredible;
  • Savage;
  • Night Hunter;
  • New Leather;
  • Age of Apocalypse.

The last one should be particularly interesting to longtime comic book fans. The Age of Apocalypse suit directly references Marvel’s famous alternate universe and gives players a chance to move far away from Logan’s more familiar appearance.

This is an important detail for Marvel’s Wolverine. The Marvel’s Spider-Man series has already accustomed Insomniac fans to having plenty of alternate costumes to unlock and use, and Wolverine appears ready to continue that tradition. This time, however, the developers are going a step further — players will be able to customize more than Logan’s clothes.

Five Wolverine Claw Variants Are Also Included in the Deluxe Edition

The Digital Deluxe Edition also includes five exclusive claw variants: Smooth-Edged, Hollow Blade, Serrated Spine, Tapered, and Thick.

Essentially, this adds another layer of visual customization. Instead of having every aspect of Logan’s appearance tied to the selected suit, players can separately choose the look of his most recognizable weapons.

Digital Deluxe Edition Bonus Amount Affects Gameplay
Exclusive Suits 5 No
Claw Variants 5 No
Bonus Skill Points 3 Yes, speeds up early progression
Classic Brown Early Unlock No
Reflective Claws Early Unlock No
PlayStation Avatars 4 No

The suits and claw variants are purely cosmetic items, meaning they do not provide Logan with additional combat stats or special gameplay advantages.

Marvel’s Wolverine Digital Deluxe Edition vs Standard Edition

There is one important distinction here: players will not need the Deluxe Edition to get a significantly more powerful version of Wolverine.

In addition to its cosmetic content, the upgraded edition provides three bonus Skill Points. Another Skill Point is available as a pre-order bonus, giving players a small head start when unlocking Logan’s first upgrades.

Players can also get early access to the Classic Brown suit and Reflective Claws. However, these are early unlocks rather than content permanently restricted to Deluxe Edition owners.

That creates a fairly straightforward distinction between the two versions:

  • Standard Edition is the obvious choice for players who simply want the full game without additional cosmetic packs;
  • Digital Deluxe Edition is aimed primarily at Wolverine fans who want more customization options from the beginning;
  • bonus Skill Points provide a small early progression boost, but they should not be necessary to complete the game.

In other words, the Deluxe Edition looks more like a digital collector’s package than a version offering a major gameplay advantage.

Why Alternate Suits Matter in Marvel’s Wolverine

For Insomniac Games, cosmetic customization has become more than a simple extra. In the Marvel’s Spider-Man games, finding and unlocking new suits became an important part of progression, with some players spending considerable time collecting every available outfit.

That formula could work even better with Wolverine. Logan has decades of history across comic books, movies, animation, and other media, giving Insomniac an enormous catalogue of designs that could potentially appear in the game.

The outfits revealed so far also suggest that the studio does not intend to limit Wolverine to a single recognizable look. Marvel’s Wolverine could feature everything from classic comic-inspired costumes to completely original designs created specifically for Insomniac’s universe.

When Does Marvel’s Wolverine Release on PS5?

Marvel’s Wolverine launches on September 15, 2026, for PlayStation 5. Insomniac Games is building a standalone Logan story connected to the same broader universe as its Marvel’s Spider-Man games.

The story will put Wolverine on a collision course with Bolivar Trask, while the game itself is noticeably more brutal than Peter Parker and Miles Morales’ adventures. Combat revolves around aggressive close-range attacks, adamantium claws, Logan’s regenerative abilities, and fast-paced melee encounters.

At the same time, Insomniac is not abandoning its enthusiasm for cosmetic customization, and the latest trailer gives us a better idea of how far the studio is willing to go when it comes to changing Logan’s appearance.

With the release approaching, the bigger question is no longer whether Marvel’s Wolverine will have alternate suits, but how many will be available in the base game outside the paid Deluxe package. These five exclusive outfits appear to represent only one part of the overall customization system.

If Insomniac follows the philosophy established in Marvel’s Spider-Man, finding and unlocking new Wolverine suits could become another reason to explore the game world and return to missions after finishing the main story. Paying extra for the Digital Deluxe Edition solely for an easier start, however, does not appear necessary. Its real value lies in the exclusive suits and claw designs. For collectors and fans of Wolverine’s many different incarnations, that could be an attractive bonus; everyone else should be able to choose the Standard Edition without missing anything essential.
