Nightdive Studios has officially announced the release date for the remaster of the cult shooter, dubbed SiN Reloaded. The updated version will be available on September 24th on all current platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The release will coincide with the release of Control Resonant and Silent Hill: Townfall, so it’s going to be a busy fall.

Work on the remaster began back in 2020, but Nightdive paused the project in 2023 as the studio became bogged down with other titles. Now the remaster has reached the finish line, and fans yearning for a high-quality remaster can breathe a sigh of relief.

What SiN Reloaded Will Offer?

The updated version will feature HD textures and models, 4K support, and frame rates up to 144 FPS. The studio approached the task with meticulous attention to detail, preserving the spirit of the original while modernizing the visuals. For those who want to see the result before buying, a demo is already available on Steam—a clear example of Nightdive’s ability to reimagine classics.

Should we fear competition from Control Resonant and Silent Hill? Remasters are a vast field, and everyone will find something to their liking. SiN Reloaded draws on the nostalgia of late-90s shooters, when storytelling and frantic pacing were just as important as graphics. Incidentally, Nightdive has already proven its mastery with the remasters of DOOM 64 and Quake, so paying homage to the original is definitely not enough.

The release is timed for the fall season, and while the choice of date seems risky (all three games are releasing on the same day), SiN Reloaded has its own audience—those who remember the 1998 original. The developers didn’t simplify the mechanics, but rather brought the visuals up to modern standards, which is key for fans.

By the way, the demo is already available—a great way to see if the game is worth your time. Nightdive clearly expects the remaster to be a long-lasting success, especially considering that it will deliver decent performance on all target platforms. All that’s left is to wait until September 24th to see if the remaster truly exceeds expectations.
