Respawn Entertainment has officially announced details for the Marked Season Anniversary for Apex Legends, scheduled for release on August 3–4, 2026, depending on your region. Players can expect a complete overhaul of familiar gameplay, from a deep rework of Bloodhound to the return of iconic locations on World’s Edge and a rigorous overhaul of the loot system. We explore how these new mechanics will change the familiar pace of matches and why this patch is shaping up to be the largest in recent years.

Complete Bloodhound Rework: A Next-Generation Hunter

The legendary ranger is being transformed beyond recognition. Respawn has decided to completely redesign Bloodhound’s skill set to transform the character into an uncompromising, aggressive leader capable of seizing the initiative in any firefight.

New Passive Ability: Glowing Trails and White Crows

Gone are the old, subtle markings. Enemies now literally leave a bright, glowing trail, and White Ravens are activated by the player’s direct gaze, pointing towards opponents at a much greater distance. The character no longer stumbles over doubts—escaping pursuit becomes virtually impossible.

Tactical Scan — More Tracking Time

The tactical ability now highlights the target’s full silhouette for an extended period, after which it issues a series of short “snapshot scans.” This allows the squad to accurately monitor enemy movements behind cover before an assault.

Allfather’s Cloak Ultimate — Team Camouflage

Personal Speed Boost has been replaced by the Allfather’s Cloak — this ultimate creates a vast camouflage dome for the entire group. Allies within the zone receive not only a speed boost but also effective camouflage with a blue shimmer (important: this is a camouflage effect, not complete invisibility). The effect lasts for 12 seconds after leaving the zone, but is immediately reset upon attack or damage. Additionally, the character received a set of unique upgrades: Hidden Sight, Bird’s Eye, and True Predator, one of which allows the camouflage to be reactivated during combat.

Comparison of the old and new Bloodhound: What’s changed in practice

To visually assess the scale of the changes, we’ve compiled all the rework’s stats into a single table.

Ability Before Rework After Rework (Marked)
Passive Faint clue on the ground Glowing trail + Crows by gaze
Tactical Brief impulse scan Extended scan + sniper shot series
Ultimate Beast of the Hunt (personal buff) Allfather’s Cloak (squad invisibility for 12 sec)
Team Role Passive support-scout Primary aggressor contender

What’s changing on World’s Edge and in the loot system?

The World’s Edge map is undergoing a major overhaul, and the gear system is being stripped of unnecessary clutter to simplify inventory management.

New and Returning Points of Interest on the Map

Three new points of interest will be added to the map: East Village near Climatizer, War Camp (replacing Survey Camp), and Tree Settlement, with an emphasis on vertical combat. But most importantly, the legendary Sorting Factory and Construction Stacks in Fragment are returning. Enjoy battles under the northern lights, and the developers have also managed to infuse the map with new lore hooks.

Corrupted Upgrades – Risk and Reward

Corrupted Attachments are being introduced. These are highly specialized modules that significantly increase one weapon stat, while critically reducing another. Each weapon can only have one such attachment.

Loot Simplification and Visible Weapon Stats

The developers have removed Support Bins, Assault Bins, and Explosive Holds, and also removed loot drop boxes and wildlife drops. Instead, visual statistics have been added to the inventory, clearly showing the impact of any attachment on the barrel’s performance. At the same time, all energy weapons have been completely reworked.

Loba and Rampart Buffs – Support at Speed

The aggressive pace of the season requires speeding up other Legends as well:

  • Loba: Black Market reload time has been reduced, and Tactical Teleport is now significantly faster.
  • Rampart: Focused on mobility – Amped Walls are built faster and have increased health, and boosting with the Sheila stationary machine gun no longer turns the player into a stationary target.

Marked Season Battle Pass and Cosmetics

The rewards for the first split of the Battle Pass were created with community feedback in mind:

  • Mythic CAR SMG “Allfather’s Fury” (5 evolution levels for Exotic Shards).
  • Legendary skins for Bloodhound and Caustic.
  • Legendary skin for the Mozambique.
  • Jet skin for the R-301.
  • 10 Exotic Shards, Apex Packs, and crafting metals.

Release Date, Platforms, and Time

The official launch of the Marked Season is scheduled for August 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET. Due to time zone differences in UTC+3 regions (including Eastern Europe and Central Europe), the release will take place on August 4.

The update will be available on all target platforms: PC (Steam, EA App, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
