G2 Gozen defeat Habos Babos in three maps

G2 Gozen defeated Habos Babos 2-1 in the lower bracket of Game Changers EMEA Stage 3. Habos Babos won Ascent 13-11 before G2 answered on Summit and Haven. The result kept G2 in the playoffs and ended the opponent’s run.

All three maps ended in regulation rounds. The opening contest remained close through twenty-four rounds. G2 then allowed only nine combined rounds across the next two maps.

Habos Babos completed their Ascent defence

G2 started Ascent with an 8-4 attacking lead. Habos Babos changed the match after switching to defence. They won nine defensive rounds and limited G2 to three after the side change. That reversal produced a 13-11 map victory for Habos Babos. Fudgestars recorded 18 eliminations and 14 deaths. Thea and Embi each reached 20 eliminations during the close finish.

Akita led G2 with 20 eliminations on Ascent. Eva and Vania each added 17. G2’s individual output did not protect the four-round opening advantage. The opening map showed the danger of treating an early lead as a finished result. Habos Babos remained effective after the side change. Their defence won the required ninth round before overtime began.

Summit changed the direction of the series

Habos Babos selected Summit as the second map. G2 immediately built an 11-1 attacking lead. Two defensive rounds after the side change completed a 13-4 victory. Akita produced 24 eliminations and ten deaths on Summit. Ten of those eliminations opened rounds, while only one opening duel was lost. That advantage repeatedly gave G2 an extra player early.

Vania added 17 eliminations with eight deaths. Every G2 player finished the map with a positive elimination difference.

The team also maintained high participation across the seventeen completed rounds. Habos Babos won three rounds after the side change, but the 11-1 deficit remained too large. The map tied the series at 1-1. Haven then became the deciding map.

G2 controlled both sides of Haven

G2 began Haven with a 10-2 attacking lead. The team added three of the next six rounds on defence. The 13-5 score completed a second consecutive map win. Akita again led the server with 20 eliminations and ten deaths. Eva recorded 13 eliminations, while Mimi added 16. G2’s balanced support prevented the result from depending on one isolated round.

Habos Babos found three attacking rounds after the side change. Embi led the team with 13 eliminations. The earlier ten-round G2 advantage still controlled the shape of the map. G2 needed eighteen rounds to finish Haven. The team closed the series without a second narrow map. Summit and Haven together produced a 26-9 round score in G2’s favour.

Akita led the series statistics

Akita finished the three maps with 64 eliminations and 37 deaths. The player delivered the highest average combat score in the series. The strongest individual map came during G2’s 13-4 Summit win. Vania also supplied consistent numbers across all three maps. Eva, Mimi and Amy contributed through different agents and roles. Their combined work became more effective after the Ascent loss.

Habos Babos received useful rounds from several players on the opener.

Habos Babos won a close opener, and G2 dominated the next two maps. Akita led the winning side across the full series.

The lower bracket leaves no second defeat

G2 entered this match after losing 1-2 against Gentle Mates GC. That result moved the team into the lower bracket. Another defeat would have ended its Stage 3 campaign. Habos Babos reached the round by beating Twisted Minds Orchid 2-0. The team also had an earlier Stage 3 loss against G2. This second meeting lasted one map longer than their previous series. A team leaves the tournament after losing a lower-bracket series. G2 recovered after losing Ascent and then won Summit and Haven. Habos Babos could not repeat the defensive improvement that decided Ascent.

G2 advanced after a 2-1 series victory. The three maps ended 11-13, 13-4 and 13-5 from G2’s perspective. G2 won the final two maps by wider margins than Ascent. The series contained 59 rounds and ended without overtime. G2 won 37 rounds, while Habos Babos won 22. Most of the round difference came from the final two maps. G2 won those maps by a combined score of 26-9. The result kept G2 alive in the lower bracket.
