ONSIDE GAMING defeated Team Secret 2-0 in the Pacific Stage 2 Play-Ins on 19 August. Both maps remained competitive into their closing rounds. ONSIDE won Ascent 13-11 and completed the series with a 13-10 result on Split.
The match took place in the lower bracket, so Team Secret had no second chance. ONSIDE GAMING advances after converting two narrow leads. Haven was left unplayed because the first two maps decided the series.
Ascent remained level through most of the map
Team Secret chose Ascent after the map selection. ONSIDE started on defence and won seven of the first twelve rounds. Team Secret won five rounds while attacking. The score remained close after the teams switched sides. Team Secret won six rounds while defending. ONSIDE added six rounds and completed a 13-11 victory.
STYRON produced several important opening eliminations for Team Secret. ONSIDE answered through a wider spread of contributions. Xiesta and Hermes repeatedly created space during decisive rounds. A two-round margin left little room for errors from either team. ONSIDE avoided overtime by finishing its final attack. The result placed immediate pressure on Team Secret before its own map choice ended.
ONSIDE finished the series on Split
ONSIDE GAMING chose Split as the second map. The first twelve rounds produced a 6-6 score. The teams therefore switched sides without a lead. ONSIDE then won seven rounds while defending. Team Secret won four rounds after the switch. That difference gave ONSIDE a 13-10 victory.
Xiesta recorded several multi-elimination rounds near the end. Wolverine and Ray also contributed during defensive holds.

Team Secret found openings but could not complete enough rounds. Split lasted just under fifty-three minutes. The map required repeated economy resets and patient defensive work. ONSIDE handled the final sequence without allowing overtime.
The veto produced two balanced battlegrounds
Team Secret removed Lotus before ONSIDE removed Summit. Team Secret then selected Ascent, and ONSIDE chose Split. Breeze and Sunset were removed later, leaving Haven as the possible deciding map. The third map was not required. ONSIDE won the opponent’s choice and then protected its own selection. That sequence is the simplest explanation for the 2-0 result.
A short series score can hide the work needed on each map. ONSIDE won by only two rounds on Ascent and three on Split. Team Secret stayed within one successful sequence of changing both results. The final record still belongs to ONSIDE. Narrow scores do not reduce the value of completed wins. ONSIDE handled the final rounds better on two different maps.

Team Secret leaves the Pacific Play-Ins
Team Secret entered the elimination bracket after losing by two maps to zero against Nongshim RedForce. The defeat against ONSIDE GAMING ends its Stage Two Play-In campaign. Team Secret cannot continue in this bracket. ONSIDE had previously lost by two maps to zero against KIWOOM DRX. The team responded by winning an elimination series. Its next opponent will present another lower-bracket test.
ONSIDE won both maps after level opening periods. Team Secret won at least ten rounds twice but could not complete either map.

ONSIDE finished both maps before overtime. Ascent ended 13-11 and Split ended 13-10. Those scores define the series more accurately than a broad description. ONSIDE GAMING advances, while Team Secret‘s run is over.
Late rounds separated the teams twice
ONSIDE reached twelve rounds first on Ascent but still needed one successful attack. Team Secret had enough credits to challenge that attack. One successful defence would have forced another round and increased the chance of overtime. Split developed in a similar way after the first twelve rounds ended 6-6. ONSIDE controlled more narrow entrances after switching to defence. Team Secret found individual eliminations without consistently converting them into full rounds. Economy management mattered because both scores stayed close. A lost round can damage the next purchase in Valorant. ONSIDE avoided poorly equipped rounds and kept suitable weapons for the decisive holds.
The 2-0 score therefore came from two separate finishes rather than one dominant map. ONSIDE won 26 rounds across the series, while Team Secret won 21. Five rounds separated the teams over almost two hours of play. Team Secret‘s elimination is final within this bracket. ONSIDE continues with evidence that it can close narrow maps. The next opponent will test whether that control can survive another elimination match.
