LOUD beat G2 Esports 2-0 after overtime on Sunset

LOUD defeated G2 Esports 2-0 in VCT Americas Stage 2. Sunset required overtime, but Lotus ended with a one-sided 13-1 score.

Lukxo led the winning team with 45 kills across the series. LOUD combined a narrow first map with complete control of the second.

Sunset went two rounds beyond regulation

G2 and LOUD exchanged short runs throughout regulation on Sunset. Neither side created enough distance to close the map before the score reached 12-12. Overtime required a team to win consecutive rounds from opposite sides. LOUD secured that pair and ended the map at 15-13.

The final margin was only two rounds after 28 had been played. Several clutches and late site entries kept the result open deep into the map. Winning Sunset gave LOUD the first point of the series. It also placed G2 under immediate pressure before moving to Lotus.

LOUD secured Lotus much earlier

LOUD opened Lotus with repeated round wins and quickly damaged G2’s economy. Limited rifles made later defensive holds even more difficult. G2 collected only one round during the map. LOUD controlled site entries and stopped the responses before they became extended exchanges.

The 13-1 finish created a twelve-round difference. It was a sharp change after Sunset had remained level through regulation. LOUD needed no third map after that result. The team completed a two-map victory with very different paths on each selection.

Lukxo led a balanced LOUD lineup

Lukxo finished the series with 45 kills. His total included pressure on Sunset and efficient rounds during the short Lotus map. Team support mattered because overtime leaves little room for isolated play. Trades kept several Sunset rounds alive after the opening player fell.

On Lotus, LOUD converted advantages without giving G2 repeated escape routes. Fast round endings also protected weapons for the following economy cycle. G2 never found the same collective stability on the second map. One round win was not enough to reset the pace or force a longer series.

The two maps followed very different patterns

Sunset contained 28 rounds and needed overtime. Lotus contained only 14 rounds and ended at the earliest normal winning score. Those numbers explain the series better than the 2-0 score alone. LOUD proved it could finish both a close contest and a dominant one.

G2 were one short sequence from taking Sunset. After losing it, the team could not reproduce the same resistance on the next map. Momentum does not decide every Valorant match, but economy pressure can grow quickly. LOUD used that pressure without allowing a meaningful reset on Lotus.

LOUD improve their position in VCT Americas

The win adds another series to LOUD’s Stage 2 record. A 2-0 result also improves their map difference during a close group phase. G2 leave with a harder result than the opening map suggested. Their Sunset performance remained competitive, while Lotus became the main concern from the day.

Sunset contained several close late rounds

Regulation produced twenty-four rounds before overtime began. Both lineups therefore played through several full economy cycles and repeated changes between attack and defence. G2 reached map point opportunities but did not win the required final round. LOUD answered under pressure and then secured two consecutive overtime rounds.

Trent handled much of G2’s planting work and finished with eight plants across the series. His objective activity helped the team keep Sunset close despite the final loss. LOUD’s players shared their own site work. DaviH recorded thirteen plants, while erde added six and helped preserve the structure of several attacking rounds.

Lotus made the overall score more decisive

The second map contained only fourteen rounds. Short maps give every player fewer opportunities, yet LOUD still produced several multi-kill sequences before the finish. Tkzin recorded five multi-kill rounds on Lotus. Lukxo also produced a round with all five opposing players eliminated, the clearest individual sequence of the map.

G2’s limited round count stopped the team from building a stable economy. Even successful kills often arrived after LOUD had already gained useful site control. The final series score combines two separate achievements. LOUD survived the longest possible regulation contest, then completed one of the shortest normal maps.

Most of the round difference came from Lotus

LOUD won twenty-eight rounds across the match, while G2 collected fourteen. Sunset contributed almost equal totals before Lotus created the larger gap. G2’s single Lotus round came before the map reached its normal finish. The team could not build the consecutive wins required to restore rifles and utility.

LOUD kept enough weapons after each conversion to protect the next purchase. That stability made the economic difference visible long before the final score. The series record combines composure and efficiency. Overtime tested the first quality, while the 13-1 map displayed the second.
