About NaJin Black Sword
NaJin Black Sword was a South Korean professional League of Legends team that competed in the country’s top domestic league, the circuit now known as the LCK. Operating under the NaJin organisation, Black Sword was one of the brand’s affiliated squads and a familiar name during an era when Korean esports was establishing the standards of excellence that would come to define the entire sport.
The NaJin Organisation
NaJin, like many of its Korean peers, fielded more than one team, and Black Sword competed alongside a sister side within the same organisation. This dual-roster structure was a widespread feature of the early Korean scene, allowing brands to place multiple lineups into competition and to develop a deeper reserve of players. Black Sword carried a distinct competitive identity within that setup, becoming one of the more recognisable names among Korea’s field of contenders.
A Demanding Competitive Home
The Korean league has consistently been regarded as the most rigorous in League of Legends, a proving ground where methodical macro play and precise coordination determined success. For NaJin Black Sword, this meant contesting a schedule packed with best-of series against elite opposition, in an environment that rewarded discipline and preparation above all. Surviving and competing in that arena demanded the very qualities that made Korean teams the global reference point.
Roster turnover was constant throughout the period. Players moved between affiliated squads and rival organisations as splits progressed, and lineups could change considerably from season to season. This fluidity was a defining trait of the scene in which Black Sword operated, shaping both its challenges and its opportunities.
Remembered in Korean History
NaJin Black Sword is today a former team, disbanded and no longer active. Nevertheless, its run through the Korean scene contributed to the dense competitive history of the region, and the NaJin name remains associated with the formative years of Korean League of Legends. As one of the notable sides of its generation, Black Sword holds a lasting place in the story of the region that shaped the international game.
