The Story of Zaahen
A God Who Chose the Cage
Zaahen used to be worshipped. Now he hunts his own kind. As one of the Darkin, he carries both divine and corrupted power in equal measure, and for a long stretch of his existence he chose to remain sealed inside his glaive rather than risk what that power might do if left unchecked. That containment wasn’t punishment — it was restraint, chosen willingly to keep the madness at bay.
Free, But Never Finished Fighting
He walks free now, and the war hasn’t ended — it’s just moved inside him. Zaahen hunts the other Darkin across Ionia and beyond, resisting the same corruption he’s trying to stamp out in his own kin, alongside Ionians such as Irelia who fight their own battles for the region. His noble intentions haven’t softened his methods; every fight is as much about proving he can still hold the line against his own nature as it is about stopping whatever threat stands in front of him.
That tension shows in how he fights. The Darkin Glaive slashes twice on his next attack, dealing bonus damage and healing him, with a recast adding a knock-up to the following strike. Dreaded Return stabs forward and pulls struck enemies back toward him. Aureate Rush dashes him to a location and slices around himself on arrival. Grim Deliverance, his ultimate, has him rise before stabbing downward, damaging enemies and healing off a portion of what he deals. Cultivation of War, his passive, builds stacks of Determination from hitting enemy champions, granting bonus attack damage that peaks once he’s filled with it — a warrior who gets more dangerous the longer the fight against himself continues. As a fighter as comfortable trading blows up close as slipping past a line of enemies, he draws on mana rather than fury or energy to fuel that constant offense, a resource more often associated with careful casters than with a warrior who spends most of a fight at melee range.
