Xin Zhao

Xin Zhao’s loyalty was earned, not given. He spent years sentenced to Noxus’s brutal fighting pits, surviving one gladiatorial bout after another with nothing but his own skill keeping him alive. When Demacian forces broke into that arena and freed the prisoners inside, Xin Zhao didn’t return to whatever life he’d had before — he swore himself entirely to the kingdom that had liberated him.

Seneschal of a Kingdom

That oath made him a Seneschal, serving the ruling house of the Lightshield line, a title he’s carried into countless engagements since. Now standing among Demacia‘s defenders, he fights beside figures like Jarvan IV, carrying his signature three-talon spear into fights he has little reason to think he’ll lose — a habit built from years of being outnumbered in the pits and coming out the other side anyway.

His spear work reflects that same fearlessness. Three Talon Strike lets his next three attacks land harder, with the third launching an enemy into the air. Wind Becomes Lightning slashes forward before thrusting his spear out, slowing anyone caught and marking them as Challenged. Audacious Charge sends him barreling into a target, speeding up his own attacks while damaging and slowing everyone nearby — and it hits even harder against a Challenged foe. Crescent Guard, his ultimate, marks an enemy he’s recently damaged and, once triggered, unleashes damage on nearby enemies scaled to their current health, knocking back anyone who isn’t already marked. Determination, his passive, rewards the relentless pace all of this demands: every third strike hits harder and heals him, letting him wade into fights the way he once had to in Noxus’s pits — with no expectation of turning back. He’s often the one expected to start a fight rather than follow into it, positioning himself so Crescent Guard’s knockback catches as many enemies as possible, while opponents are taught to spread out against him and specifically deny his Three Talon Strike combo, since so much of his damage and his cooldown resets depend on landing all three hits.
