The Story of Warwick
Warwick stalks the gray, chem-fouled alleys of Zaun the way a scent pulls at a predator — he doesn’t so much choose his targets as get dragged toward them, in a city built from the chemical runoff of grander ambitions above it. Agonizing experiments fused his body with a system of chambers and pumps that keep his veins full of alchemical rage, and what emerged from that process is a creature drawn overwhelmingly to blood.
He bursts from the shadows specifically for the criminals terrorizing the undercity’s depths, which gives his hunting instinct at least a rough sense of direction. Beyond that, the scent of blood is what actually drives him, and it doesn’t discriminate — anyone who spills it near him becomes very hard to outrun. His toolkit reflects that singular focus:
- Jaws of the Beast — a lunging bite that deals damage based on a target’s max health and heals him for the damage dealt.
- Blood Hunt — passive tracking of any enemy below 50% health, granting speed and attack speed that triple once they drop below 25%.
- Primal Howl — temporary damage reduction that ends in a howl, forcing nearby enemies to flee.
- Infinite Duress — a leap, scaling with his bonus move speed, that suppresses the first champion he collides with.
His passive, Eternal Hunger, sums up the whole design: basic attacks deal bonus magic damage, and Warwick heals for that same amount once his own health drops below half, tripling if he falls below a quarter — which means allies chasing a target alongside him do best by following wherever Blood Hunt is already pointing, since the trail leads straight to whoever is already losing. He’s most dangerous exactly when he looks most beaten, which is the entire point. Other creations of Zaun’s experiments, like Blitzcrank, come from the same undercity but answer to nothing like Warwick’s hunger.
