Sylas

Sylas grew up in one of Demacia‘s poorer quarters, and that upbringing shapes everything about him now — he has become a symbol of exactly what the Great City’s shining reputation tries to paper over. As a boy he had a rare gift for sensing hidden sorcery, a talent the mageseekers noticed and put to use, before turning on him and locking him away once he used that same gift against them.

Prison didn’t break him; it radicalized him. Free now, Sylas of Dregbourne fights as a hardened revolutionary, turning the kingdom’s own magic against it by seizing enemy spells rather than relying only on his own. He has picked up a following along the way — a growing band of mage outcasts who see in him the same grievance Demacia gave them, and his movement seems to be gaining ground rather than fading.

That theft-of-power idea defines how he fights. Petricite Burst, his passive, charges after every spell cast and empowers his next basic attack once it’s used. Chain Lash whips his shackles out to slow enemies before detonating, Kingslayer lunges him at a target while healing him off champions, and Abscond lets him dash away and, on recast, pull himself back in by hooking an enemy with Abduct. Hijack, his ultimate, is the ability that says the most about him: he steals the enemy’s own ultimate outright and casts it as if it were his. For a man imprisoned for turning stolen power against his captors, taking someone else’s greatest weapon and using it against them reads less like an exploit and more like a philosophy. Classed as a Mage who fights like an Assassin, he’s built for the mid lane, and every chain he throws and every ultimate he borrows draws from the same Mana pool as any other spellcaster in Demacia.
