The Story of Swain
A Cripple Who Seized an Empire
Jericho Swain rules Noxus, an empire that only respects strength, despite having lost his left arm and nearly his life in the Ionian wars. Being cast down should have ended his ambitions. Instead he came back with a demonic replacement for the arm he lost and took the throne through sheer ruthlessness, proving the empire’s own logic against it.
A General Who Sees What Others Can’t
Swain still leads from the front line, which is unusual for a ruler with his level of political control, and it isn’t recklessness — he is watching for a darkness only he can perceive, glimpsed through fragments gathered by ravens that pick over the corpses left behind after every battle. It’s an unsettling way to gather intelligence, and it means Swain understands the coming threat better than anyone standing beside him, at the cost of relying on the dead to see it at all.
The Enemy Closest to Home
Whatever Swain is actually preparing for, the deepest secret behind it all is that the real danger isn’t external — it’s something within him. That tension carries into his kit: his passive, Ravenous Flock, has his ravens gather Soul Fragments that heal him and grow his maximum health permanently, while Vision of Empire marks enemies and feeds him more of those same fragments. Death’s Hand pierces through lines of enemies, dealing more damage the more bolts connect, and Nevermove sends a wave out and back, rooting anyone it catches before letting Swain drag them in. Demonic Ascension, his ultimate, has him transform outright, draining health from everything nearby and unleashing Demonflare to punish anyone still close. He does have one uneasy ally in this: LeBlanc, a partnership built on convenience rather than trust, matching a ruler who seems willing to use anyone, including himself.
