The Story of Karma
Karma has lived this life before, and the one before that, and more before that than most historians could count.
A Soul Carried Across Lifetimes
She is the reincarnation of an ancient soul, reborn again and again while retaining every memory of what came before. That accumulated experience makes her arguably the clearest living expression of Ionia‘s spiritual traditions, wielding power that most people, including other Ionians such as Irelia, can only partly comprehend. It has also made her a de facto guide during her homeland’s recent crises, a role she never formally asked for but has not turned away from either.
The Cost of Keeping the Peace
Guiding a people through hard times rarely comes free, and Karma is aware that whatever peace she manages to secure may cost her personally, and cost the land she’s sworn to protect, before it’s finished. That tension between what harmony requires and what it takes from her sits underneath everything she does.
Her abilities are built around the same idea of restraint building toward release. Gathering Fire, her passive, shortens the cooldown on Mantra every time one of her damaging spells connects. Inner Flame detonates a ball of spirit energy on impact, Focused Resolve tethers and roots an enemy who can’t break free in time, and Inspire wraps an ally in a shield that also speeds them up. Mantra itself, available from level one without costing a skill point, empowers whichever of those three abilities she casts next — turning patience into the sharpest tool in her kit.
Karma is played as a mage who can just as easily anchor a lane as a support, running on mana like most Ionian spellcasters and flexing between the two roles as easily as she flexes between one accumulated lifetime and the next. That adaptability, mechanical and spiritual alike, is really the same trait wearing two different faces.
