The Story of Briar
The Black Rose doesn’t publicize its failures, but Briar is one of them made flesh. She was an experiment gone wrong from the start, her bloodlust so far past anyone’s control that her creators needed a special pillory just to keep her frenzied mind focused on anything at all.
Years passed with her held that way in Noxus, contained rather than fixed. When she finally broke free of the restraints built to hold her, nothing about the hunger driving her had changed, only the fact that no one was left to direct it. She answers to no one now, chasing whatever mix of knowledge and blood her instincts point her toward, and she clearly enjoys the freedom to indulge that hunger even when reining it back in proves difficult.
Her kit reads like the pillory never really let go. Crimson Curse stacks a bleed on everything she hits, healing her more the lower her own health drops. Head Rush closes distance and stuns with a weapon she calls, with some dark humor, the Heel Wheel of Pain. Blood Frenzy shatters her restraint entirely, sending her after the nearest enemy on pure instinct. Chilling Scream is the moment she claws back some control, trading the frenzy for a slowing scream while shielding herself from damage. Certain Death, her ultimate, marks a single champion as prey and drags her straight to them, scattering everyone else in her path. Fellow Noxians like Darius value strength as a matter of principle; for Briar, it was never a principle, only a hunger nobody managed to fully cage.
She’s fought in the top lane or occasionally mid, running on Fury instead of Mana, a resource that mirrors her own building rage far better than anything measured and rechargeable could. Among fellow Noxians such as Ambessa, who commands through discipline, Briar is the reminder that Noxus also produces forces nobody quite manages to command at all.
