Yuumi vs Mel Counter Pick

Mel holds the advantages on paper. She opens at 630 health to Yuumi’s 500 and reaches 2,313 against 1,673, attacks from 550 range against 425, and Searing Brilliance loads three bonus projectiles onto her next attack every time she casts, up to nine. Her soft spot is 21 base armor, though it climbs to 109.4, and her 30 magic resistance beats Yuumi’s 25 at every stage of the game.

The record still tilts because of Rebuttal. Mel’s barrier reflects enemy projectiles and prevents damage, which sounds like a hard answer to Prowling Projectile, but that missile is slow by design, gaining bonus damage and a stronger slow after 1.35 seconds of travel, so waiting out the barrier costs nothing except a cooldown. Solar Snare roots at its centre, and an attached Yuumi is not a valid target for it. The untargetability granted by You and Me! also blunts Golden Eclipse, which needs Overwhelm stacks sitting on someone it can strike, and that ultimate ignores distance rather than positioning, so removing the target removes the payoff. Both champions move at 330, meaning neither escapes the other on foot and the exchange resolves purely on cooldowns. Mel’s difficulty of 5 against Yuumi’s 2 widens the practical gap further.
