Dragon’s Descent adds a transformation leap that causes enemies along her path to flee, an engage and an escape in one button that Gragas has no equivalent for. The result is a 40.2% return for Gragas over 132 games on patch 16.13.1. She also wins the extended fight. Scalemail stacks on takedowns of champions, large minions and large monsters, so her defenses climb as the game goes on while Gragas sits on a flat 38 armor and 32 magic resist. Emberstrike strikes both the target and the surrounding area and can be recast, and Inferno Aegis grants a shield plus movement speed before detonating around her. Against a 150 attack range from a 125-range melee, that is a lot of damage to walk into.

Gragas keeps two levers. His health pool is genuinely larger, 2,595 at level 18 to 2,240, and Explosive Cask can throw Shyvana out of a Molten Burst line or away from a contested pit. Her damage is physical, making armor the correct first defensive purchase, and Body Slam should be held for her recast windows. Shyvana is rated 4 for difficulty against Gragas‘s 5, so errors on her side are rare.
