Happened. Valve has organized a new patch for Counter-Strike 2 right by January 21, 2026 — and this changes everything. The developers not only opened the fourth season of the Premier mode, but also literally dug up Anubis, which has just returned to the main pool of Active Duty cards.

The announcement was presented. In fact, everything is different on the Anubis map now: the legendary mid-doors have been rearranged, and the drop in the channel now flaunts right in front of the entrance. Valve also added a curious hole above the “E” box on the B film — now the grenades will fly along completely unpredictable trajectories, which, apparently, will greatly complicate the life of the protection.

It’s hot at point A too. The boxes have now been moved higher than the steps — this, by the way, will give the supports a great chance to survive an aggressive push attack.

Changes to tactics and jumping mechanics in Counter-Strike 2

Everything is difficult with jumps now — the developers have implemented the calculation of landing time through the sub-tick system. No more stamina is spent on jumping, but the timings have changed — players will have to learn how to jump like a bunny again if they want to stay mobile.

In addition to the gameplay changes, Valve has updated the weekly set of rewards — catch collections of Harlequin and Achroma skins. The first pleases the eye with its poisonously bright colors, while the second, on the contrary, makes you remember the classics thanks to its strict white and gray design.

Catch the inside — SMG bites harder now. The MP7 and MP5-SD received a decent damage boost, so the meta of the submachine guns will definitely shift, and this is great news for economy rounds.

Returning the Cache card to the Active Duty CS2 pool

Cache сs 2

The Cache story is generally a separate art form. The card left Active Duty back in 2019, and fans literally flooded Valve with questions about its fate in CS2.

And that’s where the fun comes in. The guys from NAVI decided to ask directly, and Valve responded on social media as briefly as possible: “Everything is ready.” However, no one has yet named the exact date of the legendary location’s return to service — apparently, they are keeping the intrigue to the last.

We’ll see. Very soon we will see the updated Anubis in action at the closed selections for IEM Rio 2026. The top teams in the world will show whose strategies are cooler — the battle promises to be memorable, that’s for sure.
