Cloud9 beat KRÜ Esports 2-0 in VCT Americas Stage 2. The North American team won Breeze 13-7 and then closed Split 13-5.
OXY finished the series with thirty-three kills and only thirteen deaths. His entries gave Cloud9 early control on both maps.
Cloud9 took over KRÜ’s map pick
KRÜ selected Breeze after banning Sunset. Cloud9 had removed Lotus and entered the opening map with Neon as its main entry agent. OXY immediately created pressure in the long lanes. His speed forced KRÜ defenders to move before they had complete information. Cloud9 reached the interval with an 8-4 lead. The margin came from repeated first kills and strong conversion after gaining an advantage.
KRÜ found several useful defensive rounds after the switch. Less produced the team’s most consistent resistance from Cypher. Cloud9 did not allow that response to become a full comeback. The team won the last important purchases and ended Breeze 13-7. Taking the opponent’s map gave Cloud9 a strong series position. Split followed as the team’s own choice.
OXY’s entries opened the round
OXY recorded thirteen kills during Breeze and added twenty on Split. His impact was larger than the raw total alone. Seven first kills across the series gave Cloud9 repeated five-against-four situations. Those advantages simplified the later site holds. Jackk supported the attacks with information from Sova. Zellsis and v1c helped protect the space after the initial entry.
Cloud9 also kept its economy stable. Several surviving players carried weapons into the next round and reduced the cost of each victory. KRÜ needed to win the first duel more often. The team instead spent many rounds trying to recover after Cloud9 entered the site. Less remained dangerous and finished with eighteen kills. The wider KRÜ lineup could not match Cloud9’s combined output.

Split ended before KRÜ could settle
Cloud9 began Split with another fast sequence. The team attacked the narrow routes with layered utility and immediate trades. OXY reached twenty kills during the map. KRÜ struggled to slow him before the site entry was complete. The first half created a clear Cloud9 advantage. KRÜ changed several defensive positions but continued losing space near the opening contact. Cloud9 remained disciplined after planting. Players held separate angles and forced KRÜ to clear several positions with limited time. KRÜ won five rounds across the map. It never produced enough consecutive rounds to threaten the lead. Cloud9 reached thirteen with an eight-round margin. The result completed a clear two-map victory.
Some two-map series contain one close contest and one comfortable finish. Cloud9 controlled both games by at least six rounds. The team won KRÜ’s preferred map before moving to familiar ground. That order removed much of the pressure from Split. OXY provided the standout numbers, while four teammates supported the round structure. Cloud9 rarely depended on an unsupported individual play. KRÜ had useful moments through Less and keznit. Those rounds remained separate and did not create a lasting economic advantage. Cloud9 finished with twenty-six round wins against twelve. The result reflected stronger opening duels and cleaner protection after the plant. The 2-0 victory gave Cloud9 a direct group-stage boost. KRÜ left the match without a map despite selecting Breeze first.
OXY controlled the first contact
KRÜ selected Breeze, but OXY repeatedly reached the first duel before the defence was ready. His Neon movement opened the long lanes for Cloud9. Jackk supplied information before those entries. Zellsis and v1c then protected the planted spike after Cloud9 reached the site. OXY finished the series with thirty-three kills and only thirteen deaths. Seven opening kills gave his team repeated player advantages.

Less supplied KRÜ’s most consistent resistance on Breeze. The wider lineup could not match Cloud9’s combined output. Cloud9 carried the same entry pattern onto Split. KRÜ changed defensive positions but still lost space before the site holds were ready. The second map ended 13-5 and completed the sweep. Cloud9 won both the opponent’s selection and its own map.
Cloud9 protected each early advantage
Cloud9 rarely exposed one player after winning the opening duel. Teammates stayed close enough to trade and protect weapons for the next round. That discipline kept the economy stable. KRÜ often entered the next round with fewer weapons and limited utility. Breeze remained competitive during the opening half. Cloud9 then separated before closing the map with a six-round margin.
Split offered fewer recovery chances. Cloud9 controlled the first half and did not allow isolated KRÜ holds to become a sequence. OXY supplied the visible lead, but the clean follow-up made the score possible. Cloud9 converted his entries into a clear two-map victory.
