MIBR defeat FURIA 2-0 after overtime on Haven

MIBR defeated FURIA 2-0 in the VCT Americas Stage 2 group stage. Haven required overtime before MIBR won 14-12. The second map ended 13-9 on Breeze.

Zekken finished the series with 41 kills for MIBR. Verno added 38 kills and ended twelve ahead in duels. Basic led FURIA with 40 kills across the two maps.

Haven changes after the side switch

MIBR selected Haven as the first map. The team began on attack and won eight opening rounds. FURIA reached the interval four rounds behind.

FURIA recovered after moving onto attack. The Brazilian side collected eight rounds in the second half. MIBR won four rounds, making the score 12-12 after regulation.

The map therefore continued into overtime at 12-12. MIBR won both extra rounds and completed the 14-12 result. MIBR won both extra rounds to complete Haven 14-12.

Zekken recorded thirty kills while playing Phoenix on Haven. He also finished the map thirteen kills ahead. Shyy led FURIA with twenty-two kills on Chamber.

FURIA won eight attacking rounds after halftime. MIBR then won the overtime on Haven, the map they selected. The 14-12 result gave MIBR a 1-0 series lead.

MIBR used Phoenix, Sova, Cypher, Omen and Neon on Haven. FURIA answered with Chamber, Breach, Sova, Omen and Neon. The complete lineups remained unchanged during the map.

Breeze begins with another narrow half

FURIA selected Breeze and started on defence. MIBR won seven of the first twelve rounds. The half ended 7-5, leaving the result undecided at the interval.

MIBR increased the difference after changing sides. Six defensive rounds carried the team to thirteen. FURIA added four attacking rounds and finished with nine.

Verno produced his strongest map of the series on Sova. He collected twenty kills and finished six ahead. C0M led FURIA on Breeze with twenty kills.

Aspas also improved after a quieter opening map. Aspas recorded seventeen kills on Breeze while playing Neon. Tex added twenty kills while playing Cypher.

The 13-9 score gave MIBR a 2-0 series win. Haven and Breeze produced a combined score of 27-21. MIBR therefore completed a 2-0 match victory.

Both teams changed several agents for Breeze. FURIA used Jett, Harbor, Viper, Sova and KAY/O. MIBR kept Sova and Cypher while adding Harbor.

The player totals separate the teams

Zekken led the winning team with 41 total kills. His thirty-kill Haven performance created most of that total. He added eleven more kills on Breeze.

Verno delivered a more even series across both maps. He recorded eighteen kills on Haven and twenty on Breeze. His final differential was plus twelve.

Basic was FURIA’s leading player with 40 kills. He finished six ahead on Haven despite the overtime defeat. He added seventeen kills on Breeze.

C0M improved from ten kills to twenty between the maps. His Breeze total was the highest on his team. The series ended after Breeze despite those individual numbers.

The combined round score was 27-21 for MIBR. Eight rounds separated the teams across the full match. Five of that margin came from Breeze.

The result changes both group records

MIBR recorded its second victory in three Stage 2 matches. The team had already beaten ENVY earlier in the week. Its only group defeat came against NRG.

FURIA remained without a group-stage victory after three matches. The team had previously lost to LEVIATÁN and NRG. The MIBR series added a second straight 0-2 defeat.

FURIA won eight rounds after halftime on Haven. FURIA then won four attacking rounds on Breeze. MIBR completed Breeze with six defensive rounds.

Both teams remain active in the Stage 2 group schedule. MIBR now hold two wins in the group stage. The remaining matches will determine the final positions.

MIBR left the series with both selected maps secured. FURIA came closest during its Haven comeback. The two lost overtime rounds ended that challenge.

The teams played the match during the second group week. MIBR moved above an even match record. FURIA remained at the bottom of its group.

The map order placed Haven first

MIBR removed Summit before selecting Haven. FURIA removed Lotus and selected Breeze. Sunset remained available as the third map.

Haven lasted twenty-six rounds because regulation ended level. Breeze ended after twenty-two rounds. The two played maps produced 48 rounds in total.

Breeze followed a simpler scoring pattern. MIBR led by one round at halftime. The team added six defensive rounds to finish.

FURIA won more second-half rounds on Haven. MIBR won more second-half rounds on Breeze. Those different halves still produced the same series winner.

The leading totals came from different maps

Zekken’s largest contribution came during the Haven overtime. He recorded thirty kills on Phoenix. This was the highest single-map kill total in the series.

Verno led MIBR on Breeze with twenty kills. He played Sova on both maps. His final series total reached thirty-eight kills.

Tex also reached twenty kills during the second map. His series differential remained positive. Mazino and aspas completed the five-player lineup.

Basic led FURIA across the full match. C0M produced the team’s highest Breeze total. Shyy recorded his strongest map on Haven.

The statistics explain why Haven stayed close. Several FURIA players finished with more kills than deaths. MIBR still won the two rounds that decided it.

MIBR win Haven in overtime and then take Breeze

MIBR recovered after FURIA won eight rounds in the second half. The overtime win gave MIBR a 1-0 series lead. MIBR won Breeze 13-9 to complete the series.

The first map was decided by two extra rounds. The second ended with a four-round margin. Those results gave MIBR victories on both played maps.

FURIA collected twenty-one rounds across the series. MIBR collected twenty-seven and won both maps. The final result was a 2-0 group-stage victory.
