T1 beat Paper Rex 2-1 after 82 rounds and two overtimes

T1 won both overtime maps to defeat Paper Rex in their Stage 2 opener.

T1 defeated Paper Rex 2-1 in VCT Pacific Stage 2. T1 won Sunset 14-12 after overtime. Paper Rex took Ascent 13-11, before T1 completed the series with a 17-15 overtime win on Breeze.

The three maps contained 82 rounds. Meteor led all players with 75 kills and a plus-16 kill-death difference. Jinggg and something each recorded 61 kills for Paper Rex.

Sunset moved from 7-5 to overtime

Paper Rex led 7-5 after the opening half on Sunset. T1 matched that two-round advantage after the side change. Regulation ended 12-12.

T1 won the next two rounds and closed the map 14-12. The first overtime pair was enough, so the teams did not continue to another set of extra rounds.

Sunset lasted 26 rounds. T1 held a 1-0 series lead after winning the opponent’s map choice. Paper Rex then moved to Ascent for the second map.

Paper Rex again reached a 7-5 first-half lead on Ascent. The second half was split evenly at six rounds each. The earlier margin therefore remained unchanged.

The map ended 13-11 for Paper Rex. Ascent ended 13-11 in regulation. The victory levelled the series and prevented T1 from completing a two-map result.

Sunset and Ascent produced 50 rounds together. Each side had won one map by two rounds. Breeze then became the neutral deciding map after the veto.

Breeze continued for eight extra rounds

Breeze reached 12-12 at the end of regulation. The teams then traded the first six overtime rounds. Neither side completed an attack and defence pair during that sequence.

The score reached 15-15 before T1 won two consecutive rounds. Breeze ended 17-15 after 32 rounds. It was six rounds longer than Sunset and eight longer than Ascent.

T1 therefore won both overtime maps. Paper Rex won the only map completed in regulation. The final series score was 2-1 after more than three full regulation map totals.

Meteor produced the largest kill total

Meteor recorded 75 kills, 59 deaths and nine assists. His plus-16 difference was the best in the match. His average combat score reached 258.

IZu finished with 60 kills, 56 deaths and 23 assists. Munchkin added 50 kills and 31 assists. BuZz recorded 49 kills and a team-high 38 assists.

DH completed T1’s lineup with 42 kills and 22 assists. Meteor was the only T1 player above 60 kills. The other four combined for 201 kills across the 82 rounds.

Paper Rex had two players on 61 kills

Jinggg finished with 61 kills, 58 deaths and 17 assists. Something also reached 61 kills and finished eight above his death count. Both players led Paper Rex in total kills.

D4v41 recorded 56 kills, while invy added 54 kills and 25 assists. F0rsakeN had 50 kills and a team-high 31 assists.

Paper Rex’s five players combined for more kills than T1’s five. The map result still depended on completed rounds, not the raw series kill sum. T1 won the last two rounds on both overtime maps.

Paper Rex held the same 7-5 half-time lead on the first two maps. T1 erased it on Sunset, while Paper Rex kept it on Ascent. Breeze required eight overtime rounds before the series ended.

The official result lists Paper Rex 1-2 T1. Paper Rex won Ascent. T1 won Sunset and Breeze, with both of those victories arriving after regulation.

Paper Rex recorded more kills in the defeat

Paper Rex’s five players combined for 282 kills. T1’s lineup recorded 276. Paper Rex therefore had six more kills across the full series.

T1 produced 123 assists, while Paper Rex recorded 101. BuZz led the match with 38 assists. F0rsakeN had the highest Paper Rex total at 31.

The map score sets T1’s 2-1 result, while the kill count shows output across 82 rounds. T1 completed 42 winning rounds and Paper Rex completed 40. Two rounds separated the teams after 82 rounds.

Meteor’s 75 kills were 14 above the leading Paper Rex totals. His plus-16 difference was also the match high. Something followed at plus eight.

Overtime supplied ten of the 82 rounds

Sunset used two overtime rounds after regulation ended 12-12. Breeze used eight after reaching the same regulation score. Together they added ten rounds beyond the normal limit.

T1 won all four final rounds that ended those two maps. The team took the first pair on Sunset and the last pair on Breeze. Paper Rex won six of the earlier Breeze overtime rounds in alternating pairs.

Ascent supplied no extra rounds and ended after 24. Paper Rex’s 13-11 win was the only map result settled before either team reached 12-12.

The series lasted 26 rounds on Sunset, 24 on Ascent and 32 on Breeze. Those three totals add to the 82-round figure in the lead and fact table.

The three leading combat scores came from both teams

Meteor led with a 258 combat score. IZu followed for T1 at 214, while something recorded 212 for Paper Rex.

Jinggg reached 207 and invy 197. The figures are series averages rather than one-map peaks.

Meteor finished the 82-round series with 75 kills, a plus-16 difference and a 258 combat score. T1’s overtime wins on Sunset and Breeze turned those numbers into a 2-1 victory over Paper Rex.
