Thus, the mechanical formations, having once given up their own souls for the immortal bodies of the Necrons, use ore not only as a surrogate for food, but also as the main building material. This form of stability allows them to maintain their infrastructure and combat forces with frightening efficiency. Moreover, their warriors have an exceptional ability – instant teleportation to any chosen city. At decisive moments, this becomes a real trump card: they are able to tear besieged units from the encirclement, saving them literally at the last moment. Orks are the complete opposite. Their strength and influence grow right on the battlefield, as if the war itself feeds them. While other factions are forced to build complex structures and master advanced technology in order to accumulate influence, the Orks thrive in the flames of chaos and destruction. However, this has a downside: the influence gained through battle is spent on maintaining their ever-growing armies.

The Imperials, well-known for their deeply entrenched bureaucratic culture, have mastered the art of issuing beneficial edicts. With just a single decree made in honor of the Emperor, they can significantly enhance the efficiency of their barracks, accelerate food production, or increase the yield of ore extraction. While there are numerous distinctions between the various factions, I haven’t observed any drastic shifts in tactics and strategies—this isn’t quite like the contrasts seen among the Terrans, Zerg, and Protoss. The differences tend to be more subtle. Many perceived shortcomings, when compared to other factions, are often balanced out by unique skills or abilities. In fact, some of these so-called disadvantages are nearly mirrored by similar features in other factions; for instance, the Necrons also possess their own versions of these impactful edicts. This fascinating interplay of strengths and weaknesses adds depth to the gameplay and keeps players engaged in exploring different strategies.

The battles themselves on the global map are active and rich, creating a feeling of a living, constantly changing battlefield – almost like in the best examples of tactical action tactics.

Squads must act in a coordinated manner, covering each other and retreating strategically when the battle reaches its peak. It is extremely important to maintain constant surveillance: this allows you to detect enemy movements in time and repel their attacks. At any opportunity, you should strive to capture outposts – control over these base points not only provides protection for access to important resources, but also significantly enhances the defensive and offensive capabilities of units. A successfully captured outpost can turn into a stronghold – a real fortress that will give a decisive advantage, slowing the advance of enemy units, especially near critically important directions to your city. In addition, unique artifacts with powerful combat effects are scattered across the map. Activating such artifacts increases the damage of the entire army, significantly increasing its effectiveness in combat. It is not surprising that the struggle for control over them is fierce: not only warring factions participate in skirmishes, but also dangerous neutral monsters inhabiting the area.

Every fighter comes with their own distinct traits, penalties, and bonuses that are influenced by the specific type of terrain where their units are positioned. Certain tiles, filled with various hazards like thorny thickets or barbed wire, continuously inflict damage on anyone standing on them, which means they must be cleared beforehand to ensure safe movement. In a fit of recklessness, players crossed the border of the restricted area – albeit briefly – and immediately ran into the fearsome forces of the Astra Militarum. They immediately engaged in combat, where every step had to be carefully calibrated: reconnaissance required a keen sense, and moving through treacherous terrain – the utmost caution. As events unfolded, I was forced to radically rethink my tactics. In some sectors I was forced to retreat and regroup, while in others I had to form strike forces to keep the pressure on. Defence became the cornerstone of strategy as the enemy advanced. You would not believe the deep satisfaction I felt when I repelled the enemy attacks and began a counter-offensive on all fronts – until the complete destruction of the Space Marine base! But the triumph was short-lived. Almost immediately after the victory, the terrifying xenos known as the Lord of Skulls descended upon the battlefield. It came like a living cataclysm, falling upon everyone indiscriminately. The battle arena descended into chaos, and it became clear to me: things were about to get much more difficult.

In battles against AI, you are free to choose the difficulty level and the type of opponents you will face. But as soon as you enter the arena of online battles with real players, the stakes are higher: here, everything is decided by your personal skills, quick decisions and verified strategies. This is what makes each match not just a test, but an interesting and experience-filled one. If you prefer a team game, nothing prevents you from joining forces with friends or other players to gain new qualities together, support each other and build strong alliances in a world where competition is a constant companion.
