Centuries later, the world is once again on the brink of destruction. This time, the threat comes from a treacherous samurai lord who dreams of taking over everything around him by turning peaceful animals into soulless warriors. Sensei, realizing that something is wrong, sends his students on reconnaissance, but one by one they disappear without a trace. And so, when it comes to Futo and Hiro, it becomes clear: they are the last hope of this world.

But let’s be honest – the plot does not play the main role here. Everything is extremely simple: there is a villain, he does nasty things, and the heroes must stop him. Without deep plot twists, without complex motivations. This is a classic story about the battle between good and evil, where the main thing is not “why”, but “how”. But in comparison with other games by the developers, this story stands out for its ease and good nature. Usually they like to talk about tough people who got themselves into trouble – whether because of their service or their own stupidity. Here, everything is different. The main characters are the very embodiment of virtue, without even a hint of dark thoughts. And the villain’s minions? That’s a whole other topic. They don’t just obey their master, but fear his wrath with comical horror. After yet another failure, they frantically hide, trying not to get caught in the crossfire – because the punishment could be something completely unexpected… for example, turning back into cute animals.

The simplicity of the plot easily fades into the background here, because the game takes on something else – stunning visual aesthetics, the atmosphere of animated feudal Japan and a well-thought-out style. The first hours of play are literally hypnotizing: it is impossible to tear yourself away from the sunny villages, drowning in dandelions and sunflowers, from the fields shimmering in the wind and neat houses with thatched roofs. This picturesque idyll instantly sets a light, even a little dreamy mood, softening any roughness of the gameplay.

Every detail of the environment seems to be created to enchant. Here you are floating along the river, and your gaze automatically reaches out to the waterfalls sparkling in the rays of the sun. And somewhere above, sakura petals fall, scattering in the air like a pink cloud. This entire visual feast is complemented by a warm sunset sky, painted in soft, pastel shades.

But this world, no matter how picturesque it is, does not remain unchanged. The enemy gradually leaves its scars on it – villages are engulfed in flames, forests are smoking from fires, and although at first the changes seem insignificant, over time they increasingly weigh on the atmosphere. Even among the charred ruins, bamboo groves still shimmer in all shades of green, but no longer hide the alarming premonitions. The closer to the lair of the main antagonist, the more noticeable the changes. Calm pastoral landscapes give way to gloomy military camps, entangled with barbed fences. The tone of the narrative thickens, but does not go into despair – especially in snowy locations, where the purity of the landscapes, as well as humorous scenes after battles with bosses, do not allow the game to lose its charm.

This artistic expressiveness, even if you get used to it over time, remains in the memory. The visual style here is not just a background, but a full-fledged tool that shapes the perception of the world. Particularly impressive are:

• Villages and fields, where bright flowers and warm shades create a sense of serenity.
• Rivers and waterfalls that attract the eye and add dynamics to the world.
• Forests, the emerald color of which is preserved even against the backdrop of destruction.
• Sunsets and skies, painted in gentle tones, emphasizing the aesthetics of the game.
• Contrasting locations, where the idyll gives way to gloomy military scenery, creating a dramatic effect.

This style not only pleases the eye, but also makes immersion in the game especially memorable – both for beginners and for those who have long missed such views.

Mini Ninjas – stealth on a minimal level, but with a twist

You can save the world here not only head-on, but also by acting stealthily. And this is not surprising, because the developers of Hitman are responsible for the development – people who know a lot about stealth. True, this time stealth is significantly simplified: the enemies are not very vigilant, and hiding in the bushes is almost a win-win option. No one even thinks to check the thickets where the hero is hiding, even if he noisily dives into them.

This approach to stealth is more reminiscent of a simplified version of mechanics added for variety than a well-thought-out social masquerade from the adventures of a bald killer with a barcode. This is a typical trend for modern open-world games, where stealth is just one of many available ways to complete the game. However, stealth here is more of an option than a necessity. It becomes mandatory only in one single case – during a fight with a certain boss, where you simply cannot win without a stealthy approach. The rest of the time, combat decides.

The battles here are built on the principle of “call until you win”, but with a nice bonus in the form of street magic and a bunch of improvised objects. The arsenal includes classic grenades, spikes, as well as traditional ninja shurikens that stun enemies for a short time. They didn’t forget about potions that allow you to create unexpected effects.

Well, if you want to add some spectacle, you can feel like David Blaine: the magic here is very diverse. There are both stealth spells – for example, possessing small animals or disguising themselves as bushes, and combat ones – like tornadoes, air walls and other elemental barriers.
