For example, when you rush at the speed of light as Flash or soar through the skies as Superman, you often encounter the fact that the object you need is loaded with a delay. You land, but the terminal or important element is not there yet – you have to wait until the game “figures out” to load it. In addition, navigation in the open world could be more convenient. The map, of course, shows places with bosses and various items to unlock, but you can’t zoom in on it to get your bearings more accurately.

Imagine: you’re in the thick of things, heading towards your goal, and then suddenly – a forced pause while the save is in progress. It seems to be a matter of seconds, but it’s still a bit annoying, especially if you’re used to smooth gameplay. But despite these rough edges, Traveller’s Tales studio has once again proven that it can make cool LEGO games.

This time, they got rid of many of the gameplay problems that used to be the hallmark of the series. Now all that remains is to tighten up the open world mechanics, make the interface more convenient and remove strange limitations. For example, over time, the ability to see all hidden objects on the map opens up – this is implemented through Red Cubes. But why is this function not available right away? LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is a real paradise for collectors. The main campaign is exciting, but the main feature is collecting various items, finding characters and going through old levels again with new opportunities. To unlock all the characters, you’ll have to collect in-game currency – the famous “studs”. The more characters you have, the more ways you can explore every corner of the world.

Personally, the story took me about nine hours, but the game doesn’t end there. After the finale, I spent at least another 11 hours chasing secrets, cubes, and characters. And, what’s most surprising, I still haven’t collected everything I can! This is the main charm of the game – it doesn’t abandon you after the final credits, but on the contrary, motivates you to continue exploring the world. Of course, the open world lacks some amenities, but these shortcomings do not spoil the overall impression. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is not just another game based on comics. This is a great adventure for all ages, in which there is a place for humor, riddles, action and, of course, favorite superheroes.
