There is no cruelty in the game: there is no slaughterhouse on the farm, so if you really want action – go to Skyrim. You can also go into forestry: plant trees, grow them, saw them, uproot them – everything is scientific. It’s convenient to track your progress – the map shows where what is sown and in what condition. It’s hard to cover everything on your own: you are not the eight-armed Shiva. Of course, you can hire assistants, but this hits the budget. But there are also additional sources of income – apiaries, greenhouses … Everything requires attention. Building a powerful farm from scratch is a task for a cooperative, and that’s why FS17 has a multiplayer mode. Remember: farming is not just about the beauty of the fields, it is a business. From mowing the grass to selling piglets, everything affects your score. The game has a well-thought-out economic model: there are reports, tables of income and expenses, statistics. You will have to think, plan and, yes, pay off loans.

Prices in the markets jump – keep an eye on supply and demand so as not to sell too cheap. Farming Simulator 17 is not just a clicker. Although a basic understanding of agricultural terms will not hurt. If the word “cultivator” sounds like a magic spell to you, and “forage” is associated only with horses, you will have to study a little. Fortunately, the training mode is always at hand – you can return to the right moment if you missed something. The training is divided into parts, so refreshing your memory on a specific topic is not a problem. Even if you played Farming Simulator 2015, there is something to do here. The mechanics remain familiar, but there are plenty of innovations – old-timers will definitely notice the differences and new features.

Farming Simulator 17: Mods, Equipment Rentals, and a Reworked Task System

Many of the “innovations” in the game are actually familiar modifications from FS15, only slightly refreshed. By the way, this also applies to equipment: there is noticeably more of it, the choice is wider, but the essence remains the same. But now you can fine-tune the equipment – for example, upgrade the engine, change the wheels or even repaint the tractor to suit your taste. And you don’t have to buy the equipment – you can rent it.

The first thing that catches the eye of series veterans is the choice of character. Now you can start the game as a middle-aged farmer or a young girl. This does not play a special role, but for immersion and atmosphere – quite a nice little thing.

The interface has changed slightly, almost imperceptibly. But the task system has been radically reworked. Instead of banal cargo delivery, the player is now offered to work on other people’s fields for money – an excellent way to earn start-up capital, especially at the beginning.

What new things can be done with equipment:

• Improve individual parts (engines, wheels, etc.)
• Change the color of equipment
• Rent equipment without spending money on purchase

Mercenaries (yes, that’s what they’re called now, not just “workers”) have become much smarter: they’re less slow, don’t get stuck, and behave almost like living beings. A pleasant improvement that you’ll notice from the very first minutes. The controls are still familiar – if you’ve played before, you won’t have to relearn for long.

Farming Simulator 17 Pros and Cons: An Honest Look at the Series’ Continuation

Farming Simulator 17 is not a revolution, but an evolution. In fact, it is the same Farming Simulator 15, only with noticeable improvements and useful additions. The main thing is that now modifications can be downloaded directly from the main menu, and this makes the game much more convenient and lively. The Giants Software studio is not reinventing the wheel, but simply polishing the already proven formula – and so far it is doing an excellent job.

Even before the release of the game, the developers promised to tighten up the graphics – and they kept their word. Yes, it is still far from true photorealism, but the equipment now looks much clearer, and in general the picture has become more pleasing to the eye.

Pros:

• Variety of gameplay options
• Attentive attention to detail
• Fewer bugs and lags compared to the previous part – it is noticeable that old errors have been fixed

Cons:

• Many new features are actually old ideas from mods, just officially implemented
• Animations still look awkward
