As you fill the DNA meter, your character gains levels, with a total of five levels to achieve. Once the meter is completely filled, a helicopter will be called in, and a hunt will commence, exposing your location and the chopper’s landing zone to others who are also vying for survival.

In this treacherous struggle, parkour skills, various weaponry, and consumables will be your allies, along with any armor you manage to secure throughout your journey. The map is dotted with an array of melee weapons that have been carried over from the original game, complete with modifications to enhance their effectiveness. You’ll also discover consumables such as medkits, speed boosts, strength enhancers, and grenades, which can turn the tide of battle in your favor. If you crave something particularly devastating, you might spot a bow hidden away or take a chance on snagging a shotgun or pistol from an airdrop, which is limited to just five rounds.

First problems

Initially, the developers announced with enthusiasm that the game would be released under a free-to-play (F2P) model. However, they ultimately decided to charge for early access. This decision contributed to its downfall, although it wasn’t the main factor behind the negative reception.

At that time, the game was priced at $20, yet it offered very little content—only a solo mode, repetitive gameplay, and a shop that was already integrated. The most significant aspect connecting Ubisoft and Techland is the option to buy boosters that enhance the drop rate of scars and experience points, crucial for leveling up your account. Correction of defects or something close to it

The developers made significant attempts to rectify the situation, though their approach sparked some controversy. They rolled out a series of updates that introduced a duo mode, weather variations, and a host of new zombies inspired by the original game, aiming to enhance player experience.

However, they ultimately fell short of fulfilling all their commitments; the roadmap they previously shared had promised exciting new playable characters and an additional map that fans were eagerly anticipating.
