But analysts, by the way, evaluate online in the area 50 000 – 70 000 active bayonets. The gap with CS2 is simply colossal — this should be taken into account without further ado.

CS2 is that hardcore tactical experience where there is nothing to do without knowledge of recoil patterns and the ability to freeze in place in time. Each cannon here is moody, with its own character, and the game, in truth, does not forgive the mistakes of beginners at all.
Black Ops 7, on the other hand, pushes the drive pedal to the floor, turning you into a Hollywood blockbuster hero. Shooting with rifles or machine guns feels much more malleable here — the developers, apparently, relied on speed and mechanical reflexes. In CoD, you sweat more in shootouts than you puzzle over capturing points, and it’s pretty damn dynamic, really.
By the way, regarding the modes: the essence of Counter-Strike has not changed at all over the past twenty years — everything revolves around laying a bomb (Defusal). Yes, there is an “Arms Race” or a regular Deathmatch, but this is just pampering. A whole $ 1 billion was invested in the development along the way — such figures impress even seasoned critics.
As a result, CS2 takes on a balanced balance and tactics, while Black Ops 7 takes on an incredible visual and adrenaline—fueled pace. Choose wisely, but both games are worth spending a couple hundred hours playing.

To be honest, it’s not entirely correct to compare this with Black Ops 7 on Steam, because the PC for Kolda is not the main platform. There are only about 50,000 people there every day, including Warzone. There is no official information on consoles, but GamesRadar, by the way, draws peaks in the region of 80,000 per day. In short, Counter-Strike 2 is a completely different level of popularity, in fact.

Black Ops 7 is much friendlier in this regard: it rolled out not only on the top PS5 and Xbox Series, but also on the old PS4 and Xbox One. The variety, however, is impressive — except that the owners of the Nintendo Switch were left out.
But there is one caveat — the price of the issue.
Interestingly, CS2 is completely free, whereas you will have to pay about $70 to enter the world of Black Ops 7. In addition, Valve’s brainchild will quietly start up on the “calculator” while the CoD system requirements are apparently trying to kill your computer. As a result: CS2 is more affordable in terms of money, and Black Ops 7 is more affordable in terms of the number of devices, except for Nintendo consoles, of course.

It is clear that support will be poured in at full capacity until the next part is rolled out in 2026.

The Call of Duty Challengers series is currently in full swing, which is perhaps the most ambitious project at the moment. All this, in fact, leads us to the final Call of Duty League Championship Weekend, which will be held in July 2026 under the banner of FaZe. Curiously, however, after that, life in Black Ops 7 practically freezes. Since August, all the fans’ attention has apparently shifted to the announcements of the next part of CoD — such is the specificity of the annual releases.
Is it worth playing CS2 or Black Ops 7 in 2026?
It all really comes down to your personal thrill of shooting. Counter-Strike 2 is, let’s say, about chess with guns: thoughtful gameplay, tactics, slow and precise timings. Black Ops 7, on the contrary, rolls out an insane attraction with wild dynamics, a mountain of guns and a bunch of modes where you need to run and shoot at the same time. It’s cool, though, that you don’t even have to choose on a PC — CS2 is completely free, so you should try it anyway, along the way.
For console players, the question, frankly, is not worth it at all — there is simply no choice, since Valve’s tactical shooter only lives on Steam. As a result: if you like “smart” gameplay and eternal esports, you should go to CS2. If you want an adrenaline rush for a couple of nights a week, Black Ops 7 is your option, at least until the new installment is released. It makes sense, in principle.
