Cloud9 GC defeated SEN Otters 2-1 in Game Changers North America Stage 2. SEN Otters won the opening map, Lotus, by 13 rounds to 11. Cloud9 answered with victories on Summit and Split to complete the series.<\/p>\n

The match took place in the seventh Swiss round on 17 August. Both teams entered with three wins and three losses. Cloud9<\/span>‘s victory moved the team forward after a series that lasted three maps.<\/p>\n

SEN Otters won a close opening map<\/h2>\n

Cloud9<\/span> selected Lotus<\/span> after the map veto. The teams won six rounds each before changing sides. SEN Otters then won seven defensive rounds and closed the map at 13-11. The two-round margin showed how little separated the teams. Cloud9<\/span> remained within one successful round during much of the defensive phase. SEN Otters still completed the final defensive work before overtime became necessary.<\/p>\n

Avery recorded 19 eliminations for SEN Otters on Lotus<\/span>. Invert added 18, while Oasis finished with 19. Their combined output supported the defensive rounds that decided the map. Marceline led Cloud9<\/span> with 22 eliminations on the opening map. Leelee and Yunie each added 18. Those numbers kept Cloud9<\/span> close, but they did not change the final round score.<\/p>\n

SEN Otters selected Summit<\/span> for the second map. Cloud9<\/span> built an 8-4 attacking lead before switching sides. Five defensive rounds then completed a 13-9 win and tied the series. Leelee led Cloud9<\/span> on Summit<\/span> with 19 eliminations and only 11 deaths. Marceline produced 22 eliminations, while Sarie added 17. Cloud9<\/span> found enough opening advantages to keep control after changing sides.<\/p>\n

SEN Otters won five rounds after the side change but never removed the earlier deficit. Avery finished with 15 eliminations for the team. The remaining players stayed close in output, without one large individual advantage. Winning the opponent’s selected map changed the series position. Cloud9<\/span> moved from one map behind to a deciding Split<\/span>. Both teams then had one completed victory and no margin for another loss.<\/p>\n

Split<\/span> decided the series in twenty rounds<\/h2>\n

Cloud9<\/span> started Split<\/span> on defence and led 7-5 before switching sides. The team then won six of the next eight rounds on attack. That finish produced a 13-7 map score and a 2-1 series victory. Marceline delivered 25 eliminations against 13 deaths on Split<\/span>. Gia recorded 20 eliminations and only 11 deaths. Their combined advantage helped Cloud9<\/span> control both late-round trades and direct fights.<\/p>\n

SEN Otters did not reach the same attacking total after the side change. Invert led the team with 12 eliminations. Cloud9<\/span> repeatedly protected its early lead and prevented a long defensive comeback. The deciding map lasted twenty rounds, eight fewer than a regulation maximum. Cloud9<\/span>‘s six attacking wins ended the contest without overtime. The final series therefore contained one close map and two clearer responses.<\/p>\n

The veto produced three different map demands<\/h2>\n

Cloud9<\/span> banned Breeze<\/span>, while SEN Otters removed Ascent<\/span>. Lotus<\/span> and Summit<\/span> became the two selected maps. Split<\/span> remained after Haven<\/span> and Sunset<\/span> were also removed from the series. Lotus<\/span> required Cloud9<\/span> to respond after a level opening phase.<\/p>\n

Summit<\/span> rewarded an early attacking lead. Split<\/span> then required defence before Cloud9<\/span> completed the match from the attacking side.<\/p>\n

These changes prevented one repeated pattern across all three maps. Players moved between different sites, distances and defensive rotations. The series result came from adapting after the opening defeat. Map selection and round scores provide the main explanation. Cloud9<\/span> lost Lotus<\/span>, then won Summit<\/span> and Split<\/span>. Player statistics show who produced the eliminations during that recovery. No private tactical information is required to describe the result.<\/p>\n

Cloud9<\/span> complete the Swiss round with four wins<\/h2>\n

Both teams began the match with a 3-3 Swiss record. Cloud9<\/span>‘s victory created a fourth win in the stage. SEN Otters completed the round with a fourth loss. Cloud9<\/span> had defeated Los Chudeles and Revitalize GC before this meeting. The team also carried earlier defeats into the final Swiss round. The 2-1 result settled its position through direct competition.<\/p>\n

SEN Otters had recently beaten the team named :3 but lost to HIMMERS. Their Lotus<\/span> victory provided an early advantage against Cloud9<\/span>. The following two maps removed that advantage. The final score is simple and complete. SEN Otters won Lotus<\/span> 13-11, while Cloud9<\/span> won Summit<\/span> 13-9 and Split<\/span> 13-7.
