Evil Geniuses defeated Cloud9 2-1 in the upper quarterfinal of the VCT Americas Stage Two play-ins. Cloud9 won Breeze 13-6 before Evil Geniuses answered with the same score on Haven. Evil Geniuses completed the series with a 13-11 victory on Sunset.<\/p>\n

The match lasted three maps and required two different recoveries from Evil Geniuses<\/span>. They first reset after losing Cloud9<\/span>‘s opening choice. They then protected a narrow advantage during the final rounds of Sunset<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Cloud9<\/span> controlled their choice of Breeze<\/span><\/h2>\n

Cloud9<\/span> selected Breeze<\/span> and established the stronger opening structure. Their players found early space without giving Evil Geniuses<\/span> easy return eliminations.
