# About<\/p>\n
This modpack focuses on **Complementary Shaders** and **Distant Horizons** for extended render distance.
\nIt adds a curated set of performance, visual and quality of life mods (map, HUD, voice chat, VR\/controller support) while keeping **vanilla gameplay** and full compatibility with **unmodded survival servers**.
\nIt is tuned for **HeXHub.net**, but works on most vanilla and Paper-based survival servers.<\/p>\n
## Core intent<\/p>\n
– **Complementary Shaders by EminGT** enabled and preconfigured.
\n– **Distant Horizons** for long-range terrain.
\n– Only client-side visuals, performance tweaks and UI\/QoL features, no gameplay changes.
\n– Helper mods such as the minimap are preconfigured for fair play, avoiding xray-like cave view, mob radar or similar unfair information.
\n– No freecam-style spectator mods included.<\/p>\n
## Settings policy<\/p>\n
– Preconfigured: graphics, shaders, map and a few utility mods (per edition), so everything works out of the box without unfair advantages.
\n– Keybinds: only cleaned up to resolve conflicts between mods. Important vanilla and core mod keys keep their usual positions, less important mod keys are moved or unbound.
\n– Other options such as sound, mouse and general gameplay settings stay close to vanilla defaults.
\n– **Your Options Shall Be Respected (YOSBR)** keeps your own settings on updates. Pack defaults are only applied on fresh installs or when a mod is added and its config does not exist yet.<\/p>\n
## Handheld Edition
\nTuned for handhelds and low to mid PCs.
\nTested on **Steam Deck OLED**.<\/p>\n
## Other Editions
\n– **Potato** \u2013 optimized for very weak PCs and laptops.
\n Tested on a notebook with **i7-7200U** and **8 GB RAM**.<\/p>\n
– **Enhanced** \u2013 higher visual quality without unnecessary performance cost.
\n Tested on **Ryzen 7900X**, **RTX 3070**, **32 GB RAM**.<\/p>\n
## Current status
\n**Alpha**. Active development, frequent updates, possible issues. Feedback via Discord is welcome.<\/p>\n
## Licenses and attribution
\nThird-party mods and resources remain under their original licenses. No relicensing of third-party files is performed.
