# GuardStone \u2013 Protected Area Stones for Forge 1.20.1
\nGuardStone lets you create fully protected areas in your world using special \u201cGuardStone\u201d blocks that can be evolved through several tiers. The owner can control who can build, what is protected, and see the zone borders in\u2011game.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
**Complete protection, configured by the player, base 16×16, which evolves to 24×24, 32×32, 40×40, and 64×64 (height programmable on the server). The maximum block size can be configured in the server settings, as can the ability to create the base stone. Right-click on the block to configure permissions and add or remove allied players. You can enable the visibility of the stone boundaries; two protections cannot overlap.**<\/p>\n
## Key Features
\nPlace a GuardStone block to create a protected zone around it.
\nEvolve the stone through several tiers (Iron \u2192 Gold \u2192 Diamond \u2192 Netherite) for stronger \/ larger protection.<\/p>\n

\nToggle protection flags (build, break, explosions, pistons, containers, crops, entities \/ item frames).<\/p>\n
\n## Toggle a visual border preview of the zone.<\/p>\n
Strong entity protection so players cannot loot armor stands or similar entities inside protected zones without permission.<\/p>\n
Advancements for each evolution level in a dedicated GuardStone tab.
\nServer\u2011side configuration for vertical protection range (height & depth) so zones can cover from deep underground to build limit if desired.<\/p>\n
\n## Getting Started
\n1. Obtaining a GuardStone
\nCraft or otherwise obtain a GuardStone block (check the in\u2011game recipe book or recipe viewer mods like JEI\/REI for exact recipes configured in your pack).
\nPlace the GuardStone in the world like a normal block. As soon as it is placed:
\nA protection zone is created around it.
\nThe player who placed it becomes the owner of that GuardStone.<\/p>\n
2. Opening the GuardStone GUI
\nRight\u2011click the placed GuardStone block to open its Zone GUI.
\nThis screen is divided into two main panels:<\/p>\n
Left panel \u2013 Player management (owner name, invited players).
\nRight panel \u2013 Protection flags and border controls.
\nManaging Players
\nOn the left panel you will see:<\/p>\n
Player Name text box
\nInvite button
\nUntrust \/ Expel button
\nA list of invited players<\/p>\n
Usage:
\nType a player\u2019s exact name into the Player Name box.
\nClick Invite to give them permissions inside this GuardStone zone.
\nTo remove permissions, type their name again and click Expel.
\nInvited players are allowed to interact inside the zone according to the protection flags you have enabled.<\/p>\n
\n## Protection Flags
\nOn the right panel you will see several toggle buttons:
\nBuild (Construir)
\nBreak (Romper)
\nExplosions
\nPistons
\nContainers
\nCrops
\nEntities \/ Item Frames (Entidades\/Marcos)
\nEach button shows a state:<\/p>\n
BLOQUEADO \u2013 action is protected (blocked for non\u2011trusted players).
\nPERMITIDO \u2013 action is allowed.
\nTypical behavior:<\/p>\n
With Build and Break set to BLOQUEADO, only the owner, trusted players, and server operators can place or break blocks inside the zone.
\nExplosions set to BLOQUEADO protects against TNT\/creeper damage in the area.
\nContainers protects chests, barrels, shulker boxes, etc.
\nCrops protects farmland and crops from grief.
\nEntities\/Item Frames protects things like armor stands and item frames, preventing other players from taking items or rotating\/removing them.
\nYou can adjust these flags at any time; changes take effect immediately.<\/p>\n
Showing the Zone Borders
\nAt the bottom of the right panel there is a button:<\/p>\n
Show Limits: ON\/OFF (Mostrar l\u00edmites)
\nOFF \u2013 border preview is hidden.
\nON \u2013 renders a yellow wireframe box around the protected area, similar to Minecraft\u2019s F3+G chunk borders:
\nFull outline around the zone.
\nAn extra horizontal slice at the camera height to make the volume easier to understand.
\nMultiple GuardStones can have their borders shown at once, so you can visualize overlapping or neighboring zones.<\/p>\n
Evolving the GuardStone
\nGuardStones can be evolved through multiple tiers, such as:<\/p>\n
**Iron
\nGold
\nDiamond
\nNetherite**
\nEach evolution level:<\/p>\n
Increases the strength \/ size of the protection zone (exact values depend on the mod\u2019s configuration).
\nGrants a GuardStone advancement in a dedicated advancement tab.
\nEvolution is triggered server\u2011side, and when a GuardStone reaches a new tier, the owner receives the corresponding advancement (e.g., evolving to Diamond or Netherite).<\/p>\n
Check your advancement screen to track your progress through the GuardStone evolution path.<\/p>\n
Server Configuration
\nThe mod provides server configuration options for:<\/p>\n
Radius of the protection zone.
\nVertical height above the stone.
\nVertical depth below the stone.
\nNotes for server owners:<\/p>\n
Large height\/depth values can effectively protect from bedrock to build limit around the GuardStone.
\nChoose values that make sense for your server\u2019s gameplay and performance.
\nConfig comments explain the trade\u2011offs of very large vertical ranges (wide protection vs. performance and overlap with other stones).
\nAfter changing config values, restart the server to apply them.<\/p>\n
Permissions and Operators
\nThe owner of each GuardStone always has full control over its GUI and flags.
\nInvited players obey whatever flags are enabled.
\nServer operators (OPs) can bypass most restrictions, as usual for admin work, but the intention is that regular players cannot grief inside another player\u2019s zone.
