GrimLag is a lag-aware, adaptive performance management plugin for Paper servers.
\nIt doesn\u2019t spam clears, doesn\u2019t nuke farms on sight, and doesn\u2019t pretend lag is the players\u2019 fault. It watches the server, decides how bad things really are, and responds accordingly.<\/p>\n

What GrimLag Does
\nAdaptive Lag Stages
\nGrimLag continuously monitors server performance and shifts between four internal stages:<\/p>\n
HEALTHY \u2013 Everything runs normally<\/p>\n
WARNING \u2013 Light intervention begins<\/p>\n
DEGRADED \u2013 Aggressive but fair throttling<\/p>\n
CRITICAL \u2013 Survival mode<\/p>\n
No hard switches. No instant punishment. The server eases into restrictions and eases back out.<\/p>\n
Entity AI Throttling (With Recovery)
\nWhen lag spikes, mob AI is selectively disabled to reduce CPU load.
\nWhen performance recovers, AI is restored automatically.<\/p>\n
Mobs don\u2019t stay brain-dead forever.
\nThis isn\u2019t a museum.<\/p>\n
Spawner Rate Scaling
\nSpawner output is dynamically scaled based on current lag stage.<\/p>\n
Spawners slow down under load<\/p>\n
Resume normal behavior when the server recovers<\/p>\n
No global \u201coff switch\u201d rage-quits<\/p>\n
Entity Birth Control
\nGrimLag limits entity overpopulation per chunk, not globally.<\/p>\n
Soft caps first<\/p>\n
Hard caps only when needed<\/p>\n
Players are never removed<\/p>\n
Priority entities survive longer<\/p>\n
Crowded chunks get handled without killing activity across the entire world.<\/p>\n
Lag-Aware Redstone Throttling
\nRedstone activity is dampened using probabilistic throttling during lag spikes.<\/p>\n
Redstone still works<\/p>\n
It just doesn\u2019t fire every single tick when the server is on fire<\/p>\n
Less lag, fewer broken contraptions<\/p>\n
This is intentional sabotage. But polite.<\/p>\n
Item Lifecycle Management
\nInstead of nuking dropped items:<\/p>\n
Items are merged where possible<\/p>\n
Old items age faster under lag<\/p>\n
Only then are excess items removed<\/p>\n
Your server gets cleanup \u2014 not an extinction event.<\/p>\n
