# Forgotten Cyan Flower \u2014 a mod for the old Minecraft atmosphere<\/p>\n

Greetings everyone! It’s time to present my mod, whose goal is to bring back that slow, cozy progression, the familiar visuals, and the unique atmosphere of old Minecraft versions. The project is inspired by cool mods like RboD and New Frontier Craft \u2014 you may recognize some familiar textures, but I have already indicated which mods inspired me.
\nMany blocks and items were drawn from scratch specifically for this mod. Now let’s break down what exactly it changes and adds. <\/p>\n

### New Resources and Blocks<\/p>\n

– Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and typical blocks made from them. For now, only rubies have a use, but the other gems await their turn.

– Colored planks for more variety in building.
\n– Scaffolding with improved textures (like in old-school mods). They can be broken with a snowball or an arrow. This is a reworked version of vanilla scaffolding.
\n– Retro Stonecutter \u2014 allows you to create vertical slabs, windows, and that very scaffolding.
\nDepending on the recipe, put one or two ingredients into the slots.

\n– Press Block \u2014 a risky block that requires you to deflect a ghast fireball into it. If successful, you will obtain a Hexadiamond directly from this block, but be careful: the ghast can destroy the Hexadiamond and you, leaving you with nothing.
\n– The usefulness of the Hexadiamond is that you can give your tool another chance and grant it even more durability, but this works only once. To use it, place your worn-out sword or armor on an anvil, and combine it with a Hexadiamond.<\/p>\n

\n– It also makes any armor unmeltable, providing protection against blazes and ghasts in the Nether.

### Armor and Combat<\/p>\n

– The old combat system is back \u2014 no cooldowns, just like in the old days.
\n– Chainmail is no longer useless! Now you can craft it and wear it over your main armor to get a knightly look and protection. Chainmail serves as a sacrificial layer: it absorbs part of the damage from arrows and protects the main equipment. This is done to avoid cluttering the inventory with armor combinations.

\n– The Nether has become more dangerous for your armor: ghasts and blazes are eager to blast and melt its durability. When the melting limit is exceeded, the armor explodes into the primary components from which you made your armor. Melting does not affect diamond armor.
\n– Diamond tools now have 5000 durability, but diamonds themselves have become very rare.<\/p>\n

### Mobs and Creatures<\/p>\n

– Zombie Pigmen have received a new, bloody texture.
\n– Animals (pigs, cows, chickens, sheep) now pick up food from the ground. (More animal behaviors are planned for the future).
\n– Punching a sheep with a bare hand drops wool \u2014 just like in old versions.
\n– Fire Creepers have been added to the game.
\n– Three secret mobs, you won’t encounter them easily \u2014 explore the world to uncover all the secrets.<\/p>\n

### Visuals and Old-School Atmosphere<\/p>\n

– Lighting close to old versions, and that classic fog.
\n– 3D logo from the Alpha version on the main screen.
\n– Grass color can be changed on the fly: stand in the desired biome, press G, and choose a shade from the palette. In the future, profiles will be added for sharing colors. Alpha mode is in development (after changing textures, press F3+T).
\n– The chest now has a full block model \u2014 it feels much more atmospheric.
\n– Apples grow directly on trees.

### Game Mechanics and Progression<\/p>\n

– Experience and the enchanting table have been completely removed. Enchanted books must be found in the Nether, jungle temples, or Monster Rooms with spawners.
\n– Water heating: if there is lava, fire, or magma blocks under the water, and the conductor is obsidian or glass \u2014 the water heats up. Drop an egg into heated water to boil it.
\n– Magma forms when water touches lava, creating dangerous traps and hindering speedrunners in the Nether.
\n– Minecart coupling \u2014 create pseudo-trains using an Iron Lead.
\n– Pistons move chests, jukeboxes, note blocks, furnaces, and more.
\n– Scythes and Sickles: the scythe breaks vegetation at the root, the sickle automatically replants seeds (e.g., wheat) if they are in your inventory.
\n– Colored signs: collect all dyes, and the sign GUI will open up colored letters and text formatting.
\n– Secret music discs: MEGA, calm4, Green Giant, 5 AM. They are not easy to find, and finding and using them may lead to *unforeseen consequences*.<\/p>\n

### World Generation<\/p>\n

– World generation is completely changed thanks to the Cascades datapack, which I adapted for my needs. The landscapes look incredibly beautiful.

### Music<\/p>\n

– Music Player \u2014 load your own music into the `musicplayer_music` folder.
\n– Overhauled music system for survival, creative, and the menu.<\/p>\n

### Fixes and Cleanup<\/p>\n

– Water under ice no longer creates visual artifacts (a distortion bug that Mojang still hasn’t fixed).
\n– Highlighting transparent blocks no longer makes the highlight transparent; previously this was affected by the graphics setting in vanilla 1.21.1, now it’s not.
\n– Telemetry is disabled (as much as possible).
\n– Unnecessary items and mobs have been removed.<\/p>\n

### What is currently in development or planned (stay tuned for mod updates)<\/p>\n

– Old achievement system (already partially works in singleplayer).
\n– Ropes and rope bridges \u2014 inspiration drawn from a Beta 1.7.3 mod and Deep Rock Galactic’s zipline mechanics.
\n– Full use for rubies, sapphires, and emeralds.
\n– New types of mushrooms.
\n– More vertical slab variants.
\n– Planned: Runaway Pigmen \u2014 the player will have to rescue them from the Nether and give them professions. Not an easy task.
\n– Full visual cleanup from annoying pop-up notifications.
\n– Overhaul of The End \u2014 you cannot legitimately enter it yet.
