**Flame, Fuel, Farm & Forge** (FFFF) is a lightweight realism-focused mod inspired by a coding class project. It began as an experiment to make torches burn out \u2014 and quickly grew into a full early-game progression overhaul, adding tin, bronze, lantern fueling, animal fat, accurate ore names, and more.<\/p>\n

## Torches Burn Out<\/p>\n
Regular and copper torches now behave more realistically:<\/p>\n
Torch Lifespans<\/p>\n
– Regular Torch: ~1 Minecraft day
\n– Copper Torch: ~3 Minecraft days<\/p>\n
When a torch burns out, it becomes a Burnt Torch:<\/p>\n
– Mining a burnt torch drops ashes (nothing)
\n– Mining a torch before it burns out drops Kindling
\n– Kindling works as a low-grade furnace fuel<\/p>\n
## Torches Cause Fire Damage<\/p>\n
Torches are now mildly dangerous:<\/p>\n
– Walking through a torch\u2019s hitbox can cause small fire damage
\n– Mobs take the same damage
\n– Hitting a creature with a torch ignites it \u2014 works for all torch types
\n– Regular torches can ignite flammable blocks they\u2019re placed on
\n– Copper torches do not ignite blocks
\n– Anthracite (coal ore) is flammable \u2014 place carefully!<\/p>\n
## Smarter World-Gen Lighting<\/p>\n
Village torches and other world-generated torches are replaced with:<\/p>\n
– Copper Torches, or
\n– Lanterns (preferred when placement allows)<\/p>\n
Copper torches from world-gen can still burn out naturally.<\/p>\n
## Animals Drop Fat<\/p>\n
Some animals now drop Animal Fat, used for:<\/p>\n
– Furnace fuel
\n– Lantern fuel
\n– Oil production<\/p>\n
## Lantern Fueling<\/p>\n
Lanterns now require fuel:<\/p>\n
– All Lanterns
\n – Have one internal fuel slot
\n – Holds 16 units of fuel (Oil or Animal Fat)
\n– 1 Animal Fat = 1 day of light
\n– 1 Bottle of Oil = 3 days of light<\/p>\n
Bronze Hoppers are included:<\/p>\n
– 3 slots (smaller capacity)
\n– Slower than iron hoppers<\/p>\n
## Copper Kettle<\/p>\n
A new container similar to a cauldron, but:<\/p>\n
– Max capacity 2
\n– Cannot hold hot liquids
\n– Accepts Animal Fat, Oil, or Water<\/p>\n
Placed over heat \u2192 converts Animal Fat \u2192 Oil<\/p>\n
Bonus:
\n– Composters now drip Oil whenever they produce bone meal. A Copper Kettle or Cauldron placed beneath catches the oil.<\/p>\n
## Ore items have been renamed for historical realism:<\/p>\n
– Raw Copper \u2192 Malachite
\n– Coal \u2192 Anthracite<\/p>\n
The functionality is exactly the same, they are just renamed.<\/p>\n
## Tin, Bronze & Early Tools<\/p>\n
Adds Cassiterite Ore \u2192 Tin Ingots, craftable into nuggets and blocks.<\/p>\n
### Bronze<\/p>\n
Combining tin + copper allows crafting:<\/p>\n
– Bronze Tools
\n– Bronze Weapons
\n– Bronze Armor
\n– Bronze Blocks \/ Ingots \/ Nuggets<\/p>\n
Copper equipment is disabled (historically inaccurate).
\nStone swords, pickaxes, and shovels are disabled (unrealistic tools).<\/p>\n
### Brass<\/p>\n
We have added Sphalerite Ore, which can be smelted in a Blast Furnace into Zinc Ingots.<\/p>\n
