# Encounters<\/p>\n
Adds configurable encounter events to Minecraft. Each event has its own
\ntrigger, behavior and mob pool, defined in `config\/encounters.json5`
\nor edited in-game through the YACL config screen.<\/p>\n
More events are planned.<\/p>\n
## Configuration<\/p>\n
– In-game GUI powered by YACL (required on both loaders)
\n– Config file: `config\/encounters.json5`
\n– Each event exposes its own toggles, chances and a weighted mob pool
\n– Pool entries accept custom SNBT (same syntax as `\/summon`) for gear,
\n attributes, effects\u2026
\n– Entries referencing a missing mod are skipped at load, so a single
\n config works across any modpack<\/p>\n
## Global options<\/p>\n
– `mobsDropEquipment` \u2014 when off (default), mobs spawned by any event
\n keep the gear they spawned with instead of dropping it on death<\/p>\n

\n Epic Fight and Simply Swords. Each entry is ignored automatically
\n when the corresponding mod is missing.<\/p>\n<\/details>\nNether Portal Invasion<\/b><\/summary>\n
\nescalating waves of nether mobs, preceded by a short buildup cinematic.<\/p>\n
\n– Periodic passive scan around each overworld player (only one
\n invasion may run at a time globally; a configurable cooldown gates
\n the next one)
\n– Portal frame analysis picks one of the two perpendicular spawn
\n faces; the chosen face must offer a walkable foot row across the
\n full portal width<\/p>\n
\n– The next wave starts only when the current one is fully wiped (with
\n a short grace period to absorb AoE wipes)
\n– Portal teleportation is disabled for everyone (mobs and players)
\n while an invasion runs, with a brief grace period after it ends<\/p>\n
\n– Random wave count between configurable min\/max
\n– Linear size progression: `firstWaveSize + (n-1) * step`
\n– Rarity bias: later waves shift toward rare entries (capped at 4\u00d7
\n base weight, so very-rare mobs never become dominant)<\/p>\n
\n– Default roster: Piglin Soldier \/ Marksman \/ Shieldbearer, Wither
\n Skeleton, Blaze, Piglin Brute, Hoglin + Piglin Brute (Tusked
\n Vanguard), Hoglin + crossbow Piglin (Crossbow Outrider) and a very
\n rare Ghast
\n– Hoglins and piglins spawned by the event are immune to vanilla
\n zombification so they don’t morph mid-fight
\n– Encounter piglins ignore gold-armor pacification \u2014 they keep
\n fighting regardless of player gear<\/p>\n
\n– All invasion mobs share an allies tag \u2014 no friendly fire across
\n goal-driven or brain-driven AI
\n– Per-wave group cohesion: the first survivor acts as leader, others
\n regroup around it when not in active combat
\n– Per-wave portal leash: mobs straying too far from the portal are
\n pulled back, unless they’re chasing the player
\n– One of six curated banner themes (Bloodflag, Skullbearer, Brimstone,
\n Iron Phalanx, Cinder Banner, Hellscar) is rolled per invasion;
\n ~30 % of eligible mobs become banner bearers, with the matching
\n pattern stamped on any vanilla shield they carry. Two parallel
\n invasions look like distinct armies.<\/p>\n
