# DisenchantX<\/p>\n
Extract enchantments from items into enchanted books using an anvil \u2014 simple, lightweight, and fully configurable.<\/p>\n
## How it works<\/p>\n
1. Place your **enchanted item** in either anvil slot
\n2. Place **regular books** in the other slot (slot order doesn’t matter)
\n3. Each book extracts **one enchantment** from the item<\/p>\n
– **1 book** \u2192 all enchantments go into a single enchanted book
\n– **Multiple books** \u2192 one enchantment per book (e.g. 3 books = 3 separate enchanted books)
\n– Remaining enchantments stay on the item if you don’t provide enough books
\n– **Inventory full?** Extracted books drop in front of you (like a vanilla item throw) instead of being lost<\/p>\n
