## CrossArms<\/p>\n
**CrossArms** is a datapack that expands the crossbow into a full weapon platform.
\nIt adds new enchantments, reworks Multishot, introduces advanced projectile mechanics, and allows crossbows to function as automatic weapons, shotguns, high-velocity rifles, and explosive launchers.<\/p>\n
Some enchantments are intentionally incompatible to prevent extreme stacking and to preserve distinct weapon roles.<\/p>\n

## New Enchantments<\/p>\n
### Capacity (I\u2013IV)
\nAllows a crossbow to store multiple arrows per charge, turning it into a multi-round weapon.<\/p>\n
– Increases maximum loaded arrows to 4 \/ 8 \/ 12 \/ 16
\n– Removes the need to reload after every shot
\n– Works only with regular arrows; other projectiles charge normally
\n– Increases crossbow charge time
\n– **Incompatible with:** Multishot, Acceleration, Bombard, Frenzy<\/p>\n
### Acceleration (I\u2013V)
\nGreatly increases projectile speed, effectively turning the crossbow into a high-velocity weapon.<\/p>\n
– Increases projectile speed by 2\u00d7 \/ 3\u00d7 \/ 4\u00d7 \/ 5\u00d7 \/ 6\u00d7
\n– Faster projectiles fly farther and deal more damage
\n– **Incompatible with:** Quick Charge, Capacity, Bombard, Frenzy<\/p>\n
### Zero Drop
\nDisables projectile gravity while sufficient velocity is maintained.<\/p>\n
– Greatly improves vertical accuracy
\n– Disables critical hits
\n– **Incompatible with:** Piercing, Bombard, Multishot<\/p>\n
### Ricochet (I\u2013IV)
\nAllows arrows to bounce off blocks.<\/p>\n
– Each level grants +1 additional bounce
\n– Bounces will not occur if projectile speed is too low
\n– Each bounce reduces arrow speed
\n– **Incompatible with:** Piercing, Bombard, Deflector<\/p>\n
### Deflector
\nTurns arrows into projectile reflectors.<\/p>\n
– Fired arrows can reflect other projectiles
\n– Reflected projectiles copy the Deflector arrow\u2019s speed and direction
\n– Cannot reflect other Deflector arrows
\n– Compatible with Acceleration
\n– **Incompatible with:** Piercing, Quick Charge, Ricochet, Bombard, Frenzy<\/p>\n
### Recycling (I\u2013III)
\nAllows partial recovery of ammunition after hitting a target.<\/p>\n
– 25% \/ 50% \/ 75% chance to return the arrow to the shooter
\n– Works only with regular arrows
\n– **Incompatible with:** Multishot<\/p>\n
### Bombard
\nConverts the crossbow into a true explosive weapon.<\/p>\n
– Direct hits cause immediate explosions
\n– Explosions destroy blocks similarly to TNT
\n– Hitting a block spawns ignited TNT that explodes after 1 second
\n– Each shot consumes **15 durability instead of 1**
\n– Increases crossbow charge time
\n– **Incompatible with:** Multishot, Piercing, Capacity, Acceleration, Zero Drop, Ricochet, Deflector, Frenzy<\/p>\n
### Frenzy
\nTurns the crossbow into a minigun-like weapon.<\/p>\n
– Automatically feeds normal arrows from the inventory
\n– Introduces a heat mechanic
\n– Auto-loading stops when the crossbow reaches 1 durability
\n– Once at 1 durability, the crossbow cannot be manually loaded
\n– Designed for sustained fire by holding right-click
\n– **Incompatible with:** Multishot, Piercing, Quick Charge, Capacity, Acceleration, Deflector, Bombard<\/p>\n
**Heat:**
\nHeat is applied to the player, not the weapon, and persists even if the weapon is dropped.
\n– Shooting with Frenzy increases heat
\n– Heat gradually decreases over time
\n– Higher heat increases Frenzy damage
\n– At minimal heat, Frenzy damage is reduced<\/p>\n
Heat thresholds:
\n– Level 3 (red): Player begins taking fire damage (can be prevented with Fire Resistance)
\n– Level 5 (black): Continuing to fire will break the crossbow (down to 2 durability, allowing one final shot before becoming unusable until repaired)<\/p>\n
Level 3 and Level 5 transitions are signaled on shot, allowing time to stop firing.<\/p>\n

## Changed<\/p>\n
### Multishot
\nReworked to further embrace its shotgun role.<\/p>\n
– Now has 3 levels instead of 1
\n– Each level adds 2 additional projectiles (7 at level III)
\n– Horizontal spread increases with each level
\n– At level I, the spread is lower than in vanilla
\n– Added **Neighboring Bonus** to fired arrows
\n– **Incompatible with:** Capacity, Recycling, Bombard, Zero Drop, Frenzy<\/p>\n
**Neighboring Bonus:**
\nWhen multiple Multishot projectiles are close to each other, they increase each other\u2019s damage.
\nThis significantly boosts short-range effectiveness.
\nOnly one arrow can register a true hit, while others may bounce off, penetrate, or be removed.
\nEffective range is roughly 3 blocks and may vary due to natural spread.<\/p>\n
### Piercing
\nNow arrows shot with the enchantment leave a particle trail. <\/p>\n

## Crossbow Skins<\/p>\n
CrossArms also adds cosmetic crossbow skins.<\/p>\n
– Applied via the **Smithing Table**
\n– Purely cosmetic \u2014 no gameplay advantages
\n– Default appearance can be restored with a stick
\n– Includes 11 material variants (Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Netherite etc.)
\n– Unlock the **”Locked and Loaded”** advancement by collecting all skins<\/p>\n
