# WASD Detection

# How to Use the Data pack<\/p>\n

The WASD detection works as an in-game *predicate* that can be accessed through \/execute commands, and or player selectors.<\/p>\n

\nEither of these will result in a message in chat saying “pressed w” when the player walks forward.<\/p>\n
### List of preciates
\n(All of these will have a prefix of `wasd:`)<\/p>\n
**wasd:w** = if the player walks forward<\/p>\n
**wasd:a** = if the player walks left<\/p>\n
**wasd:s** = if the player walks right<\/p>\n
**wasd:d** = if the player walks backward<\/p>\n
**wasd:moving** = if the player pressed any of the four directions<\/p>\n
**wasd:space** = if the player moves upward<\/p>\n
**wasd:falling** = if the player moves downward<\/p>\n
**wasd:shift** = if the player presses SHIFT<\/p>\n
### Lock the player’s movement<\/p>\n
If you want to lock the player from moving you will need to run this command:

\n2. Paste the .zip file you installed into this folder.
\n3. Enter your Minecraft world and type \/reload.
\n4. A message should pop up that says “Datapack Installed”.<\/p>\n

\n2. Drag and drop the .zip file you downloaded into the game window.
