# Introduction<\/p>\n
Silent\u2019s Gems adds 16 new gemstones to the game! These can be used to craft a variety of building
\nblocks (gem blocks, bricks, small bricks, polished gem stones, chiseled gem stones, smooth gem stones,
\nglass, lamps) and other useful items. These gems can also be used to craft tools and armor if Silent Gear
\nis installed.<\/p>\n

# Gems<\/p>\n

The 16 gems are split across the three vanilla dimensions and overlap somewhat. Some of the gems
\nfound in the Nether and the End can occasionally be found in the overworld.<\/p>\n
There is a gem ore block that matches all three dimensions. (You can configure the mod to generate any
\ngem in any dimension, and with whatever frequency you like. You can even disable specific gems from
\never generating, if that is what you prefer.)<\/p>\n
## Roles<\/p>\n
Each gem fits into a handful of \u201croles\u201d. Gems are usually stronger in their role\u2019s stats, and equal to other
\ngems of the same dimension in other stats (at least with default ore configs). Every gem still has unique
\ntraits.<\/p>\n
– Durability – Higher durability and armor durability. Good for repairs and AOE harvest tools
\n(hammer, excavator).
\n – Ruby, Carnelian
\n– Speed – Higher harvest speed. Good for harvest tools (pickaxe, shovel, axe, etc.)
\n -Topaz, Citrine, Heliodor
\n– Damage – Higher melee and ranged damage. Good for weapons (swords, bows, etc.)
\n – Peridot, Moldavite, Rose Quartz
\n– Armor – Higher armor stats, Good for… armor.
\n – Sapphire, Iolite, Ammolite
\n– All-Rounder – Above average in most stats. Good if you need a mix of different stats.
\n – Turquoise, Kyanite, Alexandrite, Black\/White Diamond<\/p>\n
## Rarer Gems<\/p>\n
Some gems are rarer than others. The two diamond variants are also notably strong in all stats, unlike
\nmost gems, but are also much harder to find. Having a hammer and prospector hammer from Silent
\nGear will make the process much easier.<\/p>\n
– Black Diamonds – These spawn somewhat low in the Nether, and less frequently than other
\ngems. You should find plenty while digging for ancient debris. They are dark in color with a
\nslightly orange hue.
\n– White Diamonds – These spawn somewhat low in the End, meaning you will need to dig around
\nto find them. They are pale in color with a slightly violet hue.<\/p>\n
## Gem Bag<\/p>\n

Gem Bags are nice baggies that collect and store gems as you are mining them (not applicable to ores).
\nThis frees up your inventory for more mining opportunities.<\/p>\n
## Glowroses<\/p>\n
Glowroses are light-emitting flowers that spawn naturally throughout the world. Their light is enough to
\nprevent mob spawns just two blocks away (configurable).
\nGlowroses can be planted in vanilla flower pots. Potted glowroses create much more light than
\nfreestanding ones.<\/p>\n

# Other Useful Items
\n– Summon Kitty – Spawns a tamed cat. You can also name it in an anvil, just like spawn eggs.
\n– Summon Puppy – Spawns a tamed dog. You can also name it in an anvil, just like spawn eggs.
\n– Flower Basket – Works just like the Gem Bags, but with flowers instead. Whenever you mine
