_**Patches sculk shriekers so that they react to redstone-triggered signals**_<\/p>\n
## What Does This Mod Do?<\/p>\n
In the early snapshots for Minecraft 1.19, sculk shriekers could be activated by redstone.
\nOnce the version actually released, however, not only could shriekers only be triggered
\nby sensors, but sensors that were triggered by any “unnatural” movement (read: not belonging
\nto the player) would no longer trigger a shrieker.<\/p>\n
On the whole this is probably a good thing, otherwise every time a bat spawned in the Deep Dark,
\nit would be like _Night of the Living Dead_ all up and down y=-51.<\/p>\n
However, not being able to set off _synthetic_ (placed) shriekers with, say, a timer is kind of
\na bummer. So this mod patches that behavior so that a shrieker’s shriek can be triggered by
\n**non-player vibrations**, allowing players to build:
\n– super loud mob motion detectors
\n– extremely audible notifications for when a redstone process has started or completed
\n– or **The Mother of All Alarm Clocks**.<\/p>\n
### Optional Features
\nYou can further configure this mod in two ways:
\n– enabling “synthetic shrieks” to cause the darkness effect to players within range
\n– enabling naturally spawning shriekers (`can_summon=true`) to be triggered by redstone and mobs
\n (though note that this **cannot** be used to summon wardens)<\/p>\n
To enable these features, either install ModMenu and change the settings there, or edit
\n`shriekier_shriekers.yaml` in your instance’s `config` folder to contain one or both of these lines,
\ndepending on your preference:

(both will be `false` by default)<\/p>\n
## Installation, Usage and Compatibility
\nFor multiplayer, this mod only needs to be installed **server-side**, and, assuming no other mods
\nare installed on the server, is confirmed working for vanilla clients.<\/p>\n
There are no current plans to backport this mod to 1.19-1.19.4, but I’ll do it upon request
\n(open an issue!)<\/p>\n
The build has also been confirmed compatible with Quilt as well as Fabric. It does not depend on
\nthe Fabric API. I do not currently plan to make a Forge port, but may do so
\non request.<\/p>\n
