# Realistic Campfires<\/p>\n
## Info<\/p>\n
Change how the vanilla campfire works by requiring you to put more work in creating and maintaining a campfire.<\/p>\n
To use this mod, download the mod it and move it to your “`.minecraft\/mods“` folder. Additionally, you will need to install this mod on your server for it to work properly. The Fabric API jar for this mod is also needed for the client and server.<\/p>\n
## Features<\/p>\n
Whenever you place down a campfire, it will not be lit. In order to light it on fire, you need to do the following things:<\/p>\n
– `Right click` a campfire while holding a log in your main hand
\n– Grab a flint and steel and light the fire. By default, the fire will last for five (5) minutes<\/p>\n
After being lit, the campfire will last for five (5) minutes before being extinguished. The amount of time can be configured via a datapack. <\/p>\n
1. Make a datapack in the `data\/realistic-campfires\/campfire\/time\/` directory.
\n2. Create a `time.json` file in this directory with the following data:<\/p>\n

Note that both these values are optional. If none of these values are present, then the game will default to `5 minutes`.<\/p>\n
Other features include:<\/p>\n
– A custom campfire model that indicates a log has been dropped onto the campfire
\n– `Shift + right click` to get the log back (note: you need to do so with an empty hand!)
\n– Break the campfire and get the log back.<\/p>\n
Other features include:<\/p>\n
– Rain will extinguish the campfire
\n– Water, if one block above the campfire, will extinguish the campfire<\/p>\n
These features apply to both the campfire and soul campfire blocks.<\/p>\n
There are also custom textures for the different logs you drop onto the campfire instead being the default oak log.<\/p>\n
## Versions<\/p>\n
This mod is **Fabric** ONLY. There is no plan to support Forge.<\/p>\n
